10 AHL players called up to the Austrian and Italian U20 national teams

This week, the U20 national teams of Austria and Italy are in action at international tournaments. Ten players who are currently active in the Alps Hockey League have been called up.

Austria will take part in the President Cup in Riga (LAT) from Friday to Sunday. The U20 team will first face the Castleton Spartans (USA) and host Latvia. A placement match will follow on Sunday. Head coach Philipp Pinter's squad includes a total of five players from the Alps Hockey League. Fabian Baumann, Felix Haiböck, Paul Noll and Vasily Zelenov are all active with the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. The latter was selected in this year's NHL Entry Draft, the first player ever from the Alps Hockey League. Laurin Wempe of the EC Bregenzerwald is also in the squad.

Italy plays at the U20 Super Challenge in Sweden
The Italian U20 team will be taking part in the U20 Super Challenge in Karlstad (SWE) from Tuesday to Sunday. The team led by John Parco, which also includes five players from the Alps Hockey League, will play five matches. Thomas Pisetta, Villi Pisetta and Nicolò Remolato all play for the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers. Andrea DeLuca and Nicolò Fabio Esposito play for S.G. Cortina Hafro in the multinational league. Italy's opponents in the U20 Super Challenge are France, Vålerenga Hockey, BIK Karlskoga, Färjestad BK and Hungary.
