Thomas Raffl achieved a jubilee for the EC Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday evening. The 34-year-old scored his 200th goal in his 502nd game for the Red Bulls and also recorded his 450th point. In the end, Salzburg prevailed with 3:2 at the Dornbirn Bulldogs. The Moser Medical Graz99ers and the spusu Vienna Capitals also celebrated a 3:2 away win. Second in the standings, Hydro Fehervár AV19 also won their fourth duel of the season against the iClinic Bratislava Capitals. Table leader HCB Südtirol Alperia celebrated a 2:0 home win in the „Tyrol-Derby“ against the HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie. For Innsbruck it was already the seventh defeat en suite.
Anniversary goal for Raffl in victory of Salzburg
The EC Red Bull Salzburg celebrated a 3:2 away win at the Dornbirn Bulldogs on Tuesday. In this game, Thomas Raffl scored his 200th goal and 450th point for EC Red Bull Salzburg in the 502nd game. For Salzburg it was the second win in a row. Dornbirn conceded its second defeat in a row. The hosts from Vorarlberg started better into the game. Matt MacKenzie scored in the 18th minute of the game to make it 1:0. In the 25th minute of the game, Kevin Macierzynski increased the score to 2:0 with a spectacular lacross goal. Still in the second period, RBS evened the score with two powerplay goals from John Hughes and Thomas Raffl, who scored with the intermission siren to make it 2:2. The Red Bulls' third goal was also in the special team. In the 56th minute of the game, Justin Schütz scored the game-winning goal while shorthanded. Salzburg is in fifth place in the standings, followed by the Bulldogs in sixth place.
Capitals prevail over the Black Wings
The spusu Vienna Capitals managed a narrow 3:2 away win at the Black Wings 1992. It was already the fifth win in a row for the third-placed team from Vienna. The Black Wings, meanwhile, conceded their fifth defeat in a row. The last victory was against the Capitals on December 26th. Tonight, the Austrian Capitals were the better team from the beggining. After the first period they led with 1:0, thanks to a one-timer by captain Mario Fischer. In the second period, VIC added two more goals. Only in the final period the home side could score. Among others, Stefan Freunschlag scored for the first time in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League.
Fehérvár wins also fourth duel of the season against Bratislava
Hydro Fehérvár AV19 won the fourth and last match of the season against the iClinic Bratislava Capitals. The Hungarians won with 5:2 in their home arena. Actually, the match should have taken place in Bratislava, but had to be moved to Székesfehérvár for organizational reasons. While BRC conceded the fourth defeat from the last five games, AVS, second in the standings, managed the third victory from the last five games. Csanad Erdely scored twice for Fehérvár that evening. It was already the goals twelve and thirteen for the 24-year-old Hungarian this season. On the Bratislava side, Sacha Guimond scored his first goal for the Slovaks. In the past three years the Canadian was under contract with league rival Innsbruck.
Graz back on the winning track
After six games in a row without a win after regular playing time, the Moser Medical Graz99ers were able to earn three points again for the first time. The Styrians won with 3:2 at the EC GRAND Immo VSV. The decisive goal was scored by Slovenian Ken Ograjensek in the 46th minute of the game. For Villach it was the third defeat from the past five games. In the standings, Graz is in seventh place with 38 points. Villach is tenth in the standings with 29 points. In the fourth duel of the season it was the third win for Graz.
Bolzano wins also fourth „Tyrol-Derby“
The HCB Südtirol Alperia celebrated the fourth win in the fourth „Tyrol-Derby“ against the HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie. It was also the third success in a row for the league leader. Innsbruck conceded already the seventh defeat in a row. HCB goalkeeper Andreas Bernard celebrated his third shutout in his eighth appearance of the season. The 30-year-old was able to save all 33 shots on his goal. The hosts' two goals each were shot in the third minute of play in the first and second period. Simon Pitschieler scored the 1:0 lead. The second goal was scored by Dennis Robertson. Innsbruck is in eighth place in the standings.
