This weekend a "Super Saturday" with nine games in the Alps Hockey League is on the program . The highlight will be the 500th Večni Derbi between HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana and HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice. The hosts from Ljubljana were able to celebrate a narrow victory at league leaders HC Pustertal Wölfe on Thursday and are thus slight favorite in the prestige duel. The „Wölfe“ from Pustertal meet the EK Die Zeller Eisbären. In the second top duel of the day, the fourth placed in the league table, the Rittner Buam faces the second in the league table, the S.G. Cortina Hafro. In the only game on Sunday Migross Supermercati Asiago hockey faces the EC Bregenzerwald. It will be the second duel of both teams in this week.

The first game of the „Super Saturday“ will take place in Ljubljana and it will be an absolute highlight in the Alps Hockey League. The 500th Večni Derbi between Ljubljana and HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice is on the program. The hosts are slight favorite in the prestige duel. On Thursday, they were able to win at the HC Pustertal Wölfe with 3:2 OT, celebrating their fourth win in a row in the AHL. In the league table, they occupy the fifth place. The guests from Jesenice lost at S.G. Cortina Hafro with 3:4 SO and are on eleventh place in the league table. In the AHL both teams have met 14 times so far. Nine times Jesenice was successful, but in the past season Ljubljana could win all four duels with Jesenice.

In the first of a total of four games which will start at 19:30 the EHC Lustenau meets the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan. While the EHC recently won three games in a row, the WSV has been without a win for two games. On Thursday they lost against the EC-KAC II with 1:3. Lustenau won at the Red Bull Hockey Juniors with 4:2. The guests from Vipiteno are still despite of both defeats third in the league table. Lustenau is tenth in the league table. While the EHC won the last two home games, Vipiteno has been without a victory for three matches. With Slater Doggett Wipptal has the top scorer of the league in his squad. With 21 points (9G / 12A), he shares the lead with four other players.

In the duel of the EC ,Die Adler' Stadtwerke Kitzbühel against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors the 13th of the league meets the 15th in the league table. While Kitzbühel lost the last two games, the Young Bulls have been without a win for five games. However, the KEC is very successful in front of its home crowd. They won three of their four home games. Salzburg lost two of their four away games. One of the strengths of Kitzbühel is the powerplay. With a success rate of 31.6%, they are in third place in the powerplay ranking. Both teams met six times in the AHL before. Kitzbühel lost all games with a goal difference of minimum four goals.

Leader HC Pustertal Wölfe plays against the ninth in the league table, the EK Die Zeller Eisbären. On Thursday, Pustertal lost with 2:3 OT in the rematch of last year's final agaisnt Ljubljana. It was the first defeat after six wins in a row. The „Eisbären“ were able to celebrate a 3:2 home victory over the Rittner Buam. With only 17 conceded goals Pustertal has the best defensive of the league. The save percentage of goalkeeper Colin Furlong is 93.7% (2nd place). Goalkeeper Dominik Frank from EKZ saved 92.3% of all shots. While the EKZ is unbeaten at home for two games, the HCP won five of six games abroad.

The EC-KAC II was last able to celebrate a victory on Thursday. Opponent Steel Wings Linz, meanwhile, has been without a win for five games. On Thursday, the Klagenfurter surprisingly won in front of their home crowd against the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan with 3:1. The Steel Wings lost at HC Gherdeina valgardena.it with 2:4 despite a 2:0 lead. Thanks to the victory, the KA2 has improved in the league table to the twelfth place. SWL is at the bottom of the table. In the AHL, it will be the first meeting of the two teams. Even before the start of the season, however, both teams played against each other in a friendly match, which the EC-KAC II won with 5:1.

A second top match will take place on Saturday. The Rittner Buam faces S.G. Cortina Hafro. In the league table, both teams are separated with only one point. While Ritten lost on Wednesday in Zell am See for the first time after five wins in a row and thus slipped back to fourth place in the league table, Cortina won in Jesenice with 4:3 SO and climbed to the second place. Both teams are enormously strong, especially in the special team. While the Buam lead the powerplay ranking with a success rate of 45%, Cortina is enormously successful in the penalty killing. If they were in numerical disadvantage they did not receive a goal in 89.5%. In the direct duel Ritten is clearly leading. Cortina did not win against Ritten in the last four games. Overall, SGC could win just two out of 14 duels.

In the league table this means a duel of the seventh (GHE) with the eight (VEU). In front of their home crowd, Val Gardena lost only one time in the current season, Feldkirch won three out of their six games abroad. With Robin Soudek and Dylan Stanley Feldkirch has two top scorers in their squad. Both are at the top of the scorer ranking with 21 points, along with three other players. In the ninth and last game of Saturday, Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey will face the Vienna Capitals Silver. The champion of the season 2017/18, Asiago, has won all of his last three games and is sixth in the league table. The Vienna Capitals Silver played their last game last Saturday against the Steel Wings Linz. They could win the game after last five defeats in a row with 3:1. With eleven goals from eleven games, Marco Rosa from Asiago is currently the league's top scorer. The best scorer of the Viennese, Emil Lindblom, scored five goals.

In the only game on Sunday, Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey meet the EC Bregenzerwald. It's the second direct duel this week. On Wednesday the Italians won in Vorarlberg with 4:3. It was the sixth straight win for Asiago over the ECB. For both teams it will be the second game in less than 24 hours. Asiago will play a home game against the Vienna Capitals Silver on Saturday, the EC Bregenzerwald plays against the SHC Fassa Falcons.
