A total of 54 players from the six nations participating in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League will be in action for their national team this weekend. Austria has the largest share, with 22 players. Behind them follows Slovenia with 15. For Italy, thirteen players from the ICE will be on the ice. Hungary has nominated four players from the international league.
The Austrian national ice hockey team will be competing in a four-nation tournament in Jesenice (SLO) this weekend. Besides host Slovenia, the ÖEHV selection will have to deal with Belarus and France. In total, the red-white-red squad includes 22 players from the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League. Slovenia's squad is also predominantly represented by ICE players. 15 players of the 26-man squad are active in the ICE. The majority of them play for the league leader HK SZ Olimpija.
Numerous players from the international league have also made it into Italy's lineup (13). At the Euro ICE Hockey Challenge in Budapest (HUN), the A-World Cup participant will face host Hungary and Ukraine. On the Hungarian side, four players of the second-placed Hydro Fehérvár AV19 are in the squad.
