The Moser Medical Graz 99ers and the HC Orli Znojmo celebrated important successes in battle for playoffs. The Dornbirner Eishockey Club is becoming the first persecutor of the top-duo. Linz strengthened team with Kyle Klubertanz of the DEL-Club Krefeld Pinguine.
99ers without problems against Ljubljana
Right from the beginning the 99ers had full control over the game. The hosts started with high pressure and didn’t let the team of Ljubljana to create any plays. In the 9th minute the hosts celebrated for the first time of this evening, when Zintis-Naurits Zusevic scored the first goal of the night. The guests didn’t do a lot for the game and granted the 99ers a huge number of big chances. It was only a question of time, till the 99ers increase the lead. In the 16th minute Brett McLean succeeded with the second goal. The second perioded started like the first ended. This time Oliver Setzinger took the role of a scorer, instead of preparer. He scored a worth seeing onetimer for the 3:0. After that the guests found a bit better into the game and even created a couple of chances. But the 99ers still controlled the game, but the game became more physical. In the 38th minute Kyle Beach scored his first goal of the night. With the Buzzer of the second period Zusevics increased to 5:0. In the last period nothing chanced anymore. The 99ers still had full controlled and managed to bring the lead over the time. Already in the next round the 99ers have the possibility to fix the playoffs.
Bulldogs with clear success over Fehervar
The first minutes went on with Dornbirn attacks, Grabher Meier threatened twice but Hetenyi saved. 4 minutes into the game, only the post saved the Hungarians but two minutes later, Haberl scored after many chances in front of Hetenyi’s net. One minute later Schmidt doubled the lead. After the goal, Fehervar started to be better and made a few shots, the most dangerous of which was served by Maylan but Hardy saved. In the middle of the period, Arniel passed to Grabher Meier after a rebound and he didn’t miss. Bodo passed to Sarauer five minutes before the end of the period, then Schiestel tested Hardy with a blueliner but he only hit the post. The second period started just as the first, but Owens lead a counter attack but he couldn’t pass to Beuregard in front of the net. In the 24th minute, Sagert fouled and Dornbirn pushed hard for another goal. Right after playing full strength, both Vas and Daniel Szabo got a penalty and Dornbirn used this powerplay five on three, D’Alvise shot in the net from close. In the middle of the period, Reisz threatened but Hardy saved. Sarpatki got 2+2 minutes for roughing and Dornbirn scored another powerplay goal, this time Livingston put the puck in the net. After the goal, Benoit Laporte changed the goalie, now Mikos Rajna was in the net. Dornbirn controlled the game in the second period, Fehervar got to few chances, 5 minutes before the buzzer Livingston scored his second goal after many Rajna saves. At the end of the period, Fehervar left a powerplay unused.
Znojmo with big step towards playoffs
The hosts missed the start and already after two minutes they had to take the first goal of Znojmo. Andre Lakos succeeded after assist of Martin Podesva. Also after the goal Znojmo the game and put a lot of pressure towards VSV. Stephan Csamango profited after a mistake and scored the second goal of the night. Erik Hunter had the perfect answer and narrowed the gap and scored a beautiful goal. From that occasion the VSV found better their rhythm. Jan Urbas tied the game in the 17th minute. The last goal of the first periods was again shot by Znojmo. Last years MVP Colton Yellow Horn scored the 3:2. In the second period the VSV increased pressure. Only 13 seconds after the start Miha Verlic tied again. The game was open again, both teams played on one level at that time. Jan Lattner recaptured the lead for Znojmo in the 26th minute. The VSV tried everything to come back. But the Czechs did a good job to deend the lead. In the 52nd minute Michal Vodny succeeded with the early decision. Beroun created the result of 6:3.
