99ers climb into top-5

The Moser Medical Graz99ers jumped into the top-5 after winning against the spusu Vienna Capitals in overtime. This was the fifths consecutive win of the 99ers. The Caps lost the connection to leader Salzburg. The HC Orli Znojmo and the EC Panaceo VSV had to take a setback in the battle for the top-5. The VSV got defeated by HCB Südtirol Alperia, who temporarily secured the fourth place in standings. The EC-KAC made a big step towards early playoff ticket after winning against the HC TWK Innsbruck.

KAC made a big step towards Playoffs
The EC-KAC fulfilled the compulsory task in the battle for the top-5. Klagenfurt celebrated a 3:2 win against the HC TWK Innsbruck and made a big step towards playoffs. Matthew Neal opened the scoring after only two minutes. The Sharks got neutralized by the KAC in the first period. In the second period Manuel Ganahl and Marco Richter brought the decision with a double strike. Innsbruck fought back in the final period. Clemens Paulweber and Joel Broda reduced the gap within 63 seconds with a double strike. But it was too late to tie the game. KAC celebrated a 3:2 success and increased the gap to sixth place to six points.





Salzburg sichert ersten Rang vorerst ab
The big objective of EC Red Bull Salzburg is to end the regular season phase 1 on the first place. Not only to capture the full amount of bonus points, but also to capture the first CHL-ticket. The Red Bulls came this objective closer after defeating Znojmo 5:2. Znojmo had to take a little setback in the battle for the top-5. The gap to the top five is two points right now. But Znojmo had the better start: Anthony Luciani opened the scoring. But Salzburg answered with a double strike and took the lead still in the first period. Luciani tied one more time. Salzburg acted much more efficiently in the crunch time and created a 5:2 win.

The Moser Medical Graz99ers celebrated the fifths consecutive success and made the jump into the top-5. The Caps lost the connection to leader Salzburg after an overtime-loss against the 99ers. For the 99ers it was the third win against the Capitals. The Caps had the better start into the game. Ly Loney captured the lead. Loney continued his scoring streak – he scored in all of the past ten games. The guests acted much more efficient and created the 2:0 lead. After that the hosts shifted one gear up. A double strike of Alexander Reichenberg brought the tie. Joakim Hillding even captured the lead in the third. But the Caps fought back and comebacker Taylor Vause brought his team into overtime. Ken Ograjensek secured the extra point for the 99ers in the overtime.




Bolzano wins duel between top-5-aspirants
The HCB Südtirol Alperia win the “six-points-game” against the EC Panaceo VSV. The Foxes already have an advantage of four points to the fourth placed team. The EC Panaceo VSV lost the connection to the top-5 – the gap increased to four points. The VSV didn’t capture a single point in the past three road games. The Foxes captured the lead in powerplay. Dennis Robertson scored after preparation of Anthony Bardaro. The VSV tried to come back, but Bozen acted much more efficiently and doubled the lead. Angelo Miceli increased to 3:0 before Bardaro created the result of 4:0.
