The EWHL and AWHL weekend kicks off on Friday at noon, when Budapest Jegkorong Akademia takes on HK PSRZ Bratislava. Both teams have played four games so far, earning three points (Budapest) and six points (Bratislava), respectively. For Akademia, this marks the first of three games this weekend – they’ll visit the Graz99ers Huskies on Saturday before facing the KSV Highlanders on Sunday.
Also on Saturday, the VSV Lady Hawks will clash with the Sabres St. Pölten. The visitors from Lower Austria currently sit fourth in the standings with 12 points, while league newcomers Villach have won two of their eight games so far. It’s the first-ever meeting between the two teams in the league. In the AWHL standings, the Sabres currently lead the table with a perfect nine out of nine possible points, while the Lady Hawks hold three.

From an Austrian perspective, the Lakers Kärnten and the DEC Salzburg Eagles will also be in action on Saturday. The eighth-placed Lakers will host league leaders EVB Eagles Südtirol, while the sixth-ranked Eagles from Salzburg take on MAC Budapest, who currently sit third. That game will be live and free to watch on Sporteurope.tv from 3:30 p.m..

On Sunday, all eyes will be on the Graz99ers Huskies vs. VSV Lady Hawks matchup, which begins at 7:30 p.m., right after the men’s ICE Hockey League game between Graz and the Pioneers Vorarlberg. The day will be held under the Family Day theme, with doors opening at 2:00 p.m..

Sunday will also feature another all-Austrian matchup between the Lakers and Salzburg, as well as a top international clash between league leaders Bolzano and third-placed MAC Budapest.
