AHL Transfer and Preaseason-Update

In about three weeks the new season of the Alps Hockey League starts. So the teams are currently at the end of their season preparation. In the past days numerous new commitments and contract extensions were announced. In addition, there were again lots of test matches on the program.

Fassa with five extensions and one new signing
The SHC Fassa Falcons announced with Roland Hofer a new commitment. The 30-year-old defender was last active at league rival HC Pustertal Wölfe. The Italians also extended their contracts with Dennis Kustatscher, Alfeo Deluca, Nik Trottner, Marco Felicetti and Michele Lazzer. In preparation for the new season, the "Falcons" also played a test match against the HC Eppan Pirates, which Fassa won 2:0.



Cortina holds five players

The S.G. Cortina Hafro was also able to keep five more players for the upcoming season. Luca Barnabó, Andrea Moser, Ronny De Zanna, René Vallaza and Massimo Cordiano extended their working paper for another year.

Asiago with numerous contract renewals
Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey extended the contract with six players. Alex Gellert, Marco Magnabosco, Michele Stevan, Davide Dal Sasso, Edoardo Lievore and Marek Vankus remain on board. For Alex Gellert it is already the fourth year with the former AHL Champion. So far the forward has scored 122 points for the Italians.



Kitzbühel signs two new players

Fabian Ranftl and Elias Haas strengthen the squad of the EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel. Striker Ranftl was under contract at the Vienna Capitals Silver last season. Defender Haas is transferring from the Salzburg Academy to Kitzbühel. In addition, the Tyroleans extended their contract with 23-year-old Gert Karitnig, who will start his fourth AHL season with Kitzbühel. In a test match against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors, the Tyroleans lost with 1:4, against the EC-KAC II they won with 4:2.



Steel Wings Linz and Bregenzerwald with new commitments

The Steel Wings Linz signed five new players. Benjamin Mosaad, Lukas Pohl, Patrick Böhm and Fabio Rohm are four of the newcomers who were last active at the academy of the spusu Vienna Capitals. Tobias Fender from EC Bregenzerwald was also signed on. Bregenzerwald in turn announced the commitment of Adem Kandemir. The 19-year-old center is moving from the junior team of HC Davos to the Ländle. With Karlo Skec, Leon Rüdisser and Julian Auer, the ECB was also able to keep three players for the coming season. In EC Bregenzerwald's test match against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors, the Vorarlbergers recorded a 3:2 victory after overtime.

New Canadian for Sterzing
With Dante Hannoun the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan have a new Canadian in their squad. For the 22-year-old the Broncos are the second stop in Europe. At the end of December 2019, the center moved from North America to the HCB Südtirol Alperia in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League. The Champion of the Western Hockey League of 2019 scored three points in 17 games. In the Broncos' last test match against the EHC Lustenau, the Canadian was not yet on the ice. The team from Vorarlberg managed to win 1:0. 

Ljubljana signs two new players
The AHL champion of 2019, HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana, signed with Miha Zajc and Andraz Zibelnik two new players. Center Zajc last palyed with HC TWK Innsbruck 'Die Haie' last season. In 49 games the 23-year-old scored 20 points (9G/11A). Before his time in Tyrol Zajc had already been active with the Slovenians for three years.
In two test matches for the upcoming season, HKO recorded a clear 4:1 victory over Selekcija Slovenije and suffered a narrow 1:2 defeat against rival HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice. Jesenice in turn lost his second test match against EC Grand Immo VSV with 1:2.
