"We are very happy that all clubs have submitted their entries for next season despite the current difficult situation. Together they have made a very positive statement. Already at our ice hockey forum shortly after the abrupt end of the season, important decisions were made for a successful league future. We will now continue on this path. I am impressed by the goal-oriented and comradely way in which our club managers are working together with the league organisation to create a positive future for our international league," says league president Karl Safron confidently.

The start of the new ice hockey season is scheduled for Friday, September 18 - subject to further developments concerning the corona virus. "In our planning, we are currently assuming a regular start to the championship, but we will of course continue to comply with all official requirements and monitor further developments in connection with COVID-19 very closely. Although the entire sports world is at a standstill at the moment, we see it as an important task to continue working without interruption and to prepare all the necessary measures together with our teams for a league start in September. We will be ready for the day when the players return to the ice and the fans return to the stands. We simply believe in it," explains league manager Christian Feichtinger.

The application process for the Bratislava Capitals, who could complete the field of participants as the twelfth team in the 2020/21 season, is underway. The economic examination is currently taking place. "Assuming a positive test result, the eleven currently active clubs will make a final decision on the application of the Bratislava Capitals by 15th April," says Feichtinger.
