Alps Hockey League | 18.11.2023:
18:00 SIJ Acroni Jesenice - SHC Fassa Falcons
Referees: OREL, SCHWEIGHOFER, Markizeti, Murnik | >> Livestream <<

After SIJ Acroni Jesenice suffered two defeats just before the break, the reigning champions returned to winning ways at the restart of the Alps Hockey League. The Slovenians are currently four points behind the league leaders. The SHC Fassa Falcons have put their six-game winning streak behind them. The Falcons recorded victories in both their last match before the break and their first match after it. Most recently, the team from the Dolomites was even able to celebrate a shutout victory over HC Meran/o, but needed more than 43 minutes to score for the first time. In the first duel of the season between these two teams, the Slovenians managed a clear 8:1 victory.

19:00 EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel - HC Gherdeina valgardena.it
Referees: GIACOMOZZI, HLAVATY, De Zordo, Seewald J. | >> Livestream <<

EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel recorded a 4:2 away win at the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers in their first game after the break. Gherdeina, on the other hand, suffered a defeat on Thursday after taking an early lead. Against the reigning champions, Val Gardena took the lead in the second period before being defeated 5-2. The northern Italians are in second-last place in the table - after regular time, they have only won two of 16 games. The Adler from Kitzbühel, who are in eighth place with a completely even record, are in a much better starting position. The last time these two teams met was a year ago. Gherdeina clearly prevailed 4:0 in November 2022.

19:15 Steel Wings LINZ AG - Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan
Referees: MOIDL, VOICAN, Dieber, Weiss | >> Livestream <<

The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan missed the chance to take the lead in the standings with a win in Zell on Thursday. In a spectacular exchange of blows, the team from Sterzing was narrowly beaten 5:6 and slipped back to fourth place. Steel Wings LINZ AG, on the other hand, fought their way to a 5:4 overtime victory over EC Bregenzerwald in their first game. Lukas Necesany clinched the win with his first goal of the season. The Upper Austrians have thus caught up with the middle of the table. The first duel of the season between these two teams went 4:2 to the Broncos. Justin Maylan scored a brace.

19:30 EK Die Zeller Eisbären - EC-KAC Future Team
Referees: KAINBERGER, MEIXNER, Moidl, Wendner | >> Livestream <<

The clash between EK Die Zeller Eisbären and the EC-KAC Future Team is a duel of opposites. The Eisbären defended their lead in the table in a spectacular eleven-goal game on Wednesday. Defenseman Fredrik Widen was particularly impressive with two goals and three primary assists. The Klagenfrut Future Team, on the other hand, have been without a win or points for nine games and are therefore bottom of the table. Their most recent defeat was 1:5 against the Rittner Buam, although the Carinthians were able to keep the encounter open for the first 40 minutes.

19:30 HC Meran/o Pircher - Hockey Unterland Cavaliers
Referees: LEGA, RIVIS, Wiest, Gasser | >> Livestream <<

HC Meran/o Pircher is currently fighting to stay in the middle of the table. However, they suffered a minor setback on Thursday when they lost 3-0 to SHC Fassa Falcons. The Hockey Unterland Cavaliers were also too often unlucky in their 4:2 defeat on Thursday. In the final period alone, they fired 20 shots at the Eagles' goal, but only managed to score once. The Unterländer made much better use of their chances in the first duel of the season against Meran/o, in which they won 6:1.

19:30 EC Bregenzerwald - HK RST Pellet Celje
Referees: LAZZERI, STEFENELLI, Cristeli, Formaioni | >> Livestream <<
HK RST Pellet Celje will continue their Vorarlberg series on Saturday. On Friday, the league newcomer from Slovenia will be the guest of EHC Lustenau. On Saturday, they will immediately continue against EC Bregenzerwald. The Wälder lost both the last game before the break and the first after. Most recently, they suffered a bitter OT defeat against the Steel Wings Linz, although the Tigers took the lead three times in this encounter. Bregenzerwald also had to concede defeat in overtime in the first game of the season against Celje and will now be looking for revenge against the Slovenians.
