Alps Hockey League introduces higher disciplinary standards for stick infractions

Short text 399 CharactersPlain text

Starting Saturday, December 13, stricter disciplinary standards will apply in the Alps Hockey League, particularly regarding stick-related infractions. This approach follows the rule application already implemented in the win2day ICE Hockey League as well as in several other European leagues, which provides for a more stringent interpretation of fouls such as slashing, cross-checking and hooking.

By applying a higher and more consistent standard – especially concerning stick and body fouls – the Alps Hockey League aims to reduce dangerous situations, emphasize skill and speed, and ensure fairness across all matchups.

A cleaner and more rule-compliant game enhances both player performance and the overall fan experience, placing even greater focus on quality, teamwork and sporting competition. Skating speed, proper angling and strong body positioning will become key success factors for players in the future.
