HDD Jesenice set a big exclamation mark already in their first friendy game. The "Red Steelers" won the league internal test against EC KAC II with 7:1. After the successful preseason start of the Carinthians they had to take their first defeat.

Also newcomer HK Olimpija started the PreSeason with a 2:3-defeat at DAB Dunaujvaros. In a classic preparation game Olimpija got off to a better start. It was Nik Petek who scored a lone first period goal. After the break DAB quickly turned the game around. First Arnolt Sillo finished a quick one-two-three before Zsolt Azari made Olimpija pay for failing to clear the puck. In the final period Daniel Godo netted DAB's third on a power play. With three minutes to go Luka Zorko pulled one back for Olimpija. At the end the dragons tried to equalize without a goalie but before they could do so the time run out.

The EK Zeller Eisbären are still active on the transfer market. With Martin Oraze the Austrian club signed a well experienced player who played last season for HDD Jesenice. Asiago Hockey succeeded with extending the two defensive players Lorenzo Casetti and Enrico Miglioranzi.
