During Game 6 of the Quarterfinal series, racist insults were reported from the stands towards members of the visiting team, as confirmed in the official report of the game supervisor and by the home club HC Gherdeina.

The Alps Hockey League strongly condemns this behaviour in the clearest possible terms. Such actions have no place in our sport, our arenas, or our society.

The case has already been submitted to the league’s legal commission, which will review the incident and decide on further measures.

Irrespective of any upcoming decision, the Alps Hockey League, together with HC Gherdeina, clearly distances itself from any form of racism, xenophobia, and discrimination. As a multinational league, we stand for respect, diversity, and cross-border unity.

This stance is also reflected in the league’s recently launched campaign “No Borders. Just Alps.”, which promotes solidarity beyond national and cultural boundaries.

Quote Nicolas Stockhammer (BOG Chairman):
“Racism and discrimination are fundamentally incompatible with the values of the Alps Hockey League. We stand for respect, diversity, and unity across borders. Anyone who violates these principles has no place in our arenas.”
