The native of Lienz, who made his debut in the 2006/07 season, is now entering his 20th season in which he has made at least one appearance in the top domestic league. After Villach and Salzburg, this is already his ninth consecutive year in the Steinbach Black Wings Linz jersey. Impressive proof of his consistency and loyalty. “Tiste” is far from thinking about ending his career - on the contrary: After his best championship in terms of points, the left winger is entering the new season with a fresh drive and wants to build on his achievements once again.

In 2024/25, Kristler played 55 competitive games and collected 25 points (5 goals, 20 assists) in the regular season. He also showed full commitment in the postseason and provided additional motivation with his energy in the duels against Graz and the KAC. Alongside Brian Lebler and Sean Collins, he contributed two goals and seven assists in 14 playoff games, once again surpassing his numbers from the previous season (9 goals, 19 assists in 47 games).

In more than 820 games, the now 34-year-old collected 865 penalty minutes - eleventh place in the eternal “bad boy” list of the win2day ICE Hockey League, just behind his current head coach Philipp Lukas.
