Coming weekend, nine teams of the Alps Hockey League will test for the 21-22 season. Half of all games are league internal duels. In addition, HC Gherdeina valgardena.it - with the signing of Pustertal legend Max Oberrauch - and EC Bregenzerwald have completed their roster, while Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey have announced several contract extensions.

Three games have been scheduled so far in this preseason week. The GCK Lions stopped by twice in Vorarlberg: First at the BEMER VEU Feldkirch, which had to admit defeat to the team from Switzerland clearly with 1:6. The Hungarian Marcell Révész provided a Deflection for the honorary goal of the Austrians. One day later, EC Bregenzerwald defeated the "Lions", winning 5:2. Fabian Ranftl scored in the third preseason game too. In the lone league internal duel, the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan beat S.G. Cortina Hafro 2:1 after a shootout.

Mainly Austrian teams in action
Two Austrian teams will have test games coming up on Friday: BEMER VEU Feldkirch will play its fourth home scrimmage within eight days against EHC Chur, while Red Bull Hockey Juniors will travel to Czech third league team ICH Pisek. There, new defender Keegan Kanzig from the USA - who was signed primarily for the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League team - is also expected to get his first minutes on European ice.

The day after, EHC Lustenau, last year's AHL semifinalist, will be in action, hosting EHC Basel. In the three past preseason games, the "Lions" have picked up three wins and conceded just one goal. In addition, three league internal games are on the schedule on Saturday: HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice hosts HC Gherdeina valgardena.it, EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel takes on the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan and EK Zell am See the EC-KAC Future Team, with the Carinthian side looking for revenge after a 1:2 shootout loss in the first preseason meeting.

Oberrauch completes Gherdeina squad
HC Gherdeina valgardena.it has completed its roster for the upcoming season in the Alps Hockey League with Pustertal veteran Max Oberrauch. After 16 seasons in Bruneck, the 95-time AHL goal scorer is now playing for Val Gardena.

Bregenzerwald’s roster complete too
With the signing of Waltteri Lehtonen, EC Bregenzerwald has also completed its recruiting program for the upcoming season. The 28-year-old forward was engaged in France during the past season, which was his first outside his home country Finland.

Runner-Up Asiago presents extensions
Last year's runner-up Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey has reached an agreement with a large part of its past season’s players and announced the re-signings of Simone Olivero, Marek Vankus, Edoardo Lievore, Matteo Tessari, Michele Stevan, Marco Magnabosco, Alessandro Tessari, Filippo Rigoni, Samuele Zampieri.
