Expert journalists voted HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice goalkeeper Antti Karjalainen Alps Hockey League´s 2022/23 Most Valuable Player (MVP). The 27-year-old Finn is currently playing his first season with the Slovenians. With outstanding performances in the Regular Season and especially in the playoffs, in which the goalkeeper has only a 0.6 goals against average so far, the Finnish champion of 2019 played a significant role in Jesenice's final appearance.

HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice's Antti Karjalainen was named MVP of the 2022/23 Alps Hockey League season by hockey journalists, making him the most important and valuable player. For the 27-year-old Finn, who is playing his first season in the Alps Hockey League, it is the first individual award of his professional career. In 40 appearances so far this season, Karjalainen has recorded remarkable eleven shutouts, including four in the playoffs alone. With an average of only 1.28 goals against, the Finn has by far the best Goals-Against-Average of all goalkeepers in the Alps Hockey League. In the playoffs, the 27-year-old has only conceded an average of 0.60 goals and has never conceded more than two goals.

Diego Cuglietta of S.G. Cortina Hafro follows in second place. With 14 points, the Canadian is currently the top scorer in the playoffs. Third place goes to Santeri Haarala of the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers, currently the season's leading top scorer (61 points).
