Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey won their fourth consecutive game in the Alps Hockey League Master Round, winning 5-3 at Rittner Buam. EHC Lustenau also continued its streak, with Remy Giftopoulos' brace securing a 5-4 home win over HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice, while S.G. Cortina Hafro claimed a comeback win.
In Qualification Round A, the EC-KAC Future Team collects first win thanks to a shootout victory over EC Bregenzerwald, while in Qualification Round B HC Gherdeina valgardena.it remains unbeaten. Meanwhile, the chasing duo suffered defeats eacht, as the EK Die Zeller Eisbären lost to the Vienna Capitals Silver, while BEMER VEU Feldkirch's eleven-game winning streak got destroyed by Linz.
Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey remains unbeaten on fourth gameday of the Alps Hockey League Master Round and extended its advantage in the standings after a 5-3 road win over the Rittner Buam. The South Tyroleans now hold an intermediate round record of two wins and two losses and are in fourth place. Asiago struggled mightily with the 'Baum, allowing the home team to overcome an early two-goal deficit and later tying again. However, Anthony Salinitri's power play goal in the 33rd minute put the visitors on the winning track for good, earning them their second consecutive victory over Ritten. Five different players scored for the winner.
Lustenau steps close to Jesenice in standings
EHC Lustenau extened their winning streak against regular-season champion HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice, defeating the Slovenians 5:4. With the third win in a row, Mike Flanagan's team improved to third place in the standings, only one point behind Jesenice. A strong team performance gave the Stickers their second win of the season over the Slovenians. Remy Giftopoulos scored a brace, Kevin Puschnik recorded three points (1G|2A). For Lustenau it was the first home win after three defeats in a row.
In the chasing duel of the Master Round, S.G. Cortina Hafro won SHC Fassa Falcons with 4:3. Two goals in the last 27 seconds of the second period allowed the "Ampezzani" to tie a two-goal deficit. Luca Barnabo scored the game-winner in a power play situation in the 46th minute.
Gherdeina remains unbeaten, chasing duo lost
The clear leader in Qualification Round B is still HC Gherdeina valgardena.it, which won 5:2 at home against HC Meran/o Pircher. Three goals within 4,5 minutes in the middle third let the home side take control of the game, two empty-netters rounded off the result. Goalie Colin Furlong showed again a strong performance, recording 45 saves (95.7%).
The chasing duo lost, as the BEMER VEU Feldkirch had to admit defeat after eleven wins in a row, losing at the Steel Wings Linz - after a weak starting frame, which the Upper Austrians opened with three goals in the first seven minutes - with 2:8. Linz thus celebrated its highest win of the season, also won the second duel with the Vorarlbergers. Sebastian Wilding, who is only 18 years old, shown in a four-point night (2G|2A), while the EK Die Zeller Eisbären lost to the Vienna Capitals Silver, which made the decision with two goals within six minutes of the final third.
Klagenfurt cheers first win
The EC-KAC Future Team won its first game in the intermediate round with a 4:3 home victory over EC Bregenzerwald after a penalty shootout. The special teams shone for the Klagenfurt team: two goals were scored on the power play, and they survived eight of nine shorthanded situations unscathed, scoring one shorthander. Maximilian Theirich was credited with the decisive penalty.
