After the adventure Continental Cup, Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey and HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice are back in action in the Alps Hockey League. The Italians could win all three group matches of the European competition and thus managed to advance to the next round. In the AHL, Asiago will be challenged by the Rittner Buam on Thursday. League leader Jesenice will play against the EC-KAC Future Team. A total of five games are scheduled on Thursday. In addition, the Steel Wings Linz will face the BEMER VEU Feldkirch on Friday.

HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice is back in action in the Alps Hockey League this week after they played in the Continental Cup last week. The Slovenians played in a group with Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey and lost to the league rival from Italy with 3:4. They also suffered a clear defeat against Amiens (1:9). In the third game, they won against Brasov (5:0). As third in the table, Jesenice did not qualify for the next round. Asiago, however, won the group. In the AHL, the EC-KAC Future Team is waiting as an opponent on Thursday. The Klagenfurt team is sixth in the table and eight points behind the leader from Jesenice. This season, the two teams already met on September 23rd. Jesenice prevailed with 4:1 at the Future Team. It was their 16th win in the 17th AHL duel.

With the Red Bull Hockey Juniors and the Vienna Capitals Silver two of the form-weakest teams of the league meet on Thursday. The 12th in the table from Salzburg has four defeats in a row. The bottom team from Vienna has lost all of its last five games. Both teams have faced each other twice in the AHL so far. The Young Bulls were victorious in both meetings (5:2 & 8:1).

The fourth in the table EHC Lustenau gets to deal with the 15th in the table SHC Fassa Falcons on Thursday. The Vorarlberg team celebrated a 2:1 home win over Cortina in their last game. In front of their home crowd, they have won six of their eight games so far this season. Fassa was only victorious away at the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. Lustenau can rely on the best power play in the entire league (45%). They are also among the top teams in the penalty killing (84.4% - 4th place). In the H2H between EHC and FAS, Lustenau is clearly in front with 8:2. However, last season Fassa was victorious in Lustenau.

Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey returns to the Alps Hockey League with a lot of confidence. Last week, last season's finalist was in action in the Continental Cup. In the table, the South Tyroleans are in eleventh place. S.G. Cortina Hafro is ninth in the table. The Italians have also won three of their last five games. Most recently, however, they lost to Lustenau with 1:2. At home SGC was victorious the last two games. Gherdeina prevailed away from home in three of the past five games. This season will be the first duel between the two teams. In the H2H Cortina leads clearly with 11:3.

The only game on Friday will be a duel between the Steel Wings Linz and BEMER VEU Feldkirch. The Steel Wings go into this game as slight favorites, because the Upper Austrians have six points more on than the Vorarlberg team. Feldkirch could win so far only one game after regular playing time. The Steel Wings already four. The current form also speaks for the home side. SWL won the first direct duel this season with 5:1 and won three of the last five games. The VEU always got at least one point in three of the last five games, but could win only one.
