Making their league comeback, the KAC Future Team found themselves shorthanded early on. However, Hebar won possession and fired a spectacular short-handed goal to give the visitors the lead. Asiago were the dominant side and levelled the game in the 13th minute through Porco, who had scored a hat-trick on the opening matchday. The Italians then took the lead for the first time in the middle period, but Klagenfurt fought back to make it 2–2. Asiago responded with two goals in quick succession from Parco and Marchetti to establish a 4–2 advantage.

The home side made sure of the result in the final period. Marchetti scored twice more to complete his hat-trick, while power-play goals from Porco and Maganabosco made the scoreline even more emphatic. Klagenfurt added one late goal to make it 8–3.
