Alps Hockey League, Sat, 04.12.2021:
HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice - EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel 3:2 OT (1:2,0:0,1:0,1:0)
Jesenice continued its winning streak at home, but the league leader was given all it could handle by Kitzbühel in its tenth consecutive home win. The Tyroleans took the lead after only 59 seconds through Patrik Kittinger. Although the Slovenians equalized just a few minutes later, a Jevdokimovs goal put the visitors back in front in the first period. This held until the 54th minute, when Erik Svetina tied the game and sent it into overtime. In the extra session, it was Svetina again who scored Jesenice's 100th goal of the season to win the game. Kitzbühel was defeated for the fourth time in a row, but at least got a point with a spirited performance at the league leader and improved to 13th place.

HC Gherdeina valgardena.it - S.G. Cortina Hafro 2:3 OT (1:1,0:0,1:1,0:1)
Cortina confirmed the upward trend in the road game at Wolkenstein. The guests also took the lead through Ronny de Zanna, but a Moroder goal provided the equalizer immediately. An open exchange of blows followed with slight advantages for Cortina, but the next goal took longer to come. In the third period, when Val Gardena had more of the game, the guests took the lead again through a Barnabo goal. The "Furie" took full risk in the last minute, replaced goalie Colin Furlong with a sixth skater and was rewarded with the equalizer by Max Oberrauch 30 seconds before the end. In overtime, however, Riccardo Lacedelli ensured the away win. Cortina thus took revenge for the defeat in the first duel of the season and improved to eighth place. Gardena is still two places ahead.

Vienna Capitals Silver - SHC Fassa Falcons 4:3 (2:0,1:2,1:1)
The Vienna Capitals Silver celebrated their fourth win of the season at home against the Fassa Falcons. The last team in the table played especially strong in the first two periods and led 3:0 after just over 28 minutes. However, the guests, who showed strong improvement in recent weeks, came within one goal in the middle period. Ten minutes before the end Alex Nilsson scored after a pass from Caps newcomer Emils Auzins and thus also provided the game winner. Fassa pulled one back again to make it 3:4, but the Italians were unable to equalize. For the Falcons it continues on Sunday with the away game in Klagenfurt.

EHC Lustenau - Steel Wings Linz 5:2 (1:1,0:1,4:0)
EHC Lustenau celebrated a clear 5:2 victory against Steel Wings Linz. The home team had a hard time for a long time to defeat the strong playing Upper Austrians. After both teams scored a quick goal each, the Linz team even took the lead for the first time in the middle period. But in the final period the Vorarlbergers proved to be very efficient and turned the game in their favor with four goals in nine minutes. The match-winner was Remy Giftopoulos with three goals. Thus, the EHC won the sixth AHL duel with the Steel Wings and moved up to second place in the standings. The Upper Austrians are now in 14th place.

BEMER VEU Feldkirch - Red Bull Hockey Juniors 2:3 SO (1:0,0:0,1:2,0:0,0:1)
In a very disciplined game it was Feldkirch's captain Dylan Stanley who put his team in the lead with a powerplay goal (9th). Subsequently, an open exchange of blows developed, a first goal for the Juniors was prevented by VEU goalkeeper Alex Caffi again and again with strong saves. In the second period, the Red Bulls took command, but despite their superiority, they were still unable to score. Finally, it was Tim Harnisch who deservedly scored in the 45th minute to make it 1:1. In the 56th minute, the Juniors turned the match around with a goal from Aljaz Predan. But a Trastasenkovs goal made it 2:2. The game had to go into overtime and was finally decided in the penalty shootout. There, 17-year-old Luca Auer kept his nerve and converted the decisive attempt.

Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey - Rittner Buam 8:1 (2:0,3:0,3:1)
A little more than a month after the 1:5 away defeat at Rittner Buam, Asiago clearly won the return match in the Alps Hockey League on Saturday night. The Italian champions showed Heiskanen's team how to play at home in Odegar Stadium and won 8:1 in the end. Both teams were shorthanded in the top match. Already in the third minute the home side took the lead after a counterattack by Michele Marchetti. Daniel Mantenuto increased the lead to 2:0 in the first period and Asiago scored three goals within ten minutes in the middle period. After the 0:5 goalie Smith was replaced by Hannes Treibenreif in the Rittner goal. The last period was exactly 74 seconds old when Anthony Salinitri completed the half dozen. Five minutes later, Robert Öhler was able to do a little result cosmetics after a precise shot into the short corner and scored the Rittner consolation goal. But Asiago had not yet had enough and finally celebrated a clear 8:1 home victory. Alessandro Tessari, Marchetti and Salinitri each scored a brace. In the 30th AHL meeting between these two teams, Asiago won for the 14th time - it was also the highest victory. While Asiago improved to fourth place, Ritten dropped to third.
