Release from 02.11.2019
Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey remains at the top of the league after the last games before the first International Break of the season. The Italians won at HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice with 3:2. Second in the league table is the HC Pustertal Wölfe, which clearly won at the EC ,Die Adler' Stadtwerke Kitzbühel with 7:2. The HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana won at the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan, the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it celebrated an overtime victory against the Rittner Buam. The first defeat after normal playing time the S.G. Cortina Hafro conceded at the VEU Feldkirch.
Asiago celebrates last minute victory
In a very balanced game Simone Olivero scored the decisive 3:2 just 31 seconds before the end of the game in favor of Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey, which thus are the league leader before the first international break. It was already the seventh consecutive victory for the Italians. Host HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice took the lead both. They scored the 1:0 and the 2:1. The Slovenes are ranked eleventh in the league table.
Kitzbühel without a chance against Pustertal
Last year's finalist HC Pustertal Wölfe did not give the EC 'Die Adler' Stadtwerke Kitzbühel a chance in a clear 7:2 away win. Already after 29 minutes the South Tyroleans led with 4:0. In the league table HCP is still one point behind Asiago in second place. For Kitzbühel it was already the fifth defeat in series. The KEC occupies the 15th place in the league table.
Val Gardena and Ljubljana with narrow victories
There was tension until the last minute in the games of HC Gherdeina valgardena.it and HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana. The South Tyroleans won against the Rittner Buam with 3:2 after extra time and already celebrated the sixth victory in series, which is why they already occupy the fourth place in the league table. Ritten, however, had to accept the fourth defeat from the past five games. Due to the strong season start the Buam are still in sixth place and thus over the line. The HK SZ Olimpija Ljublana won at the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan with 2:1 and celebrated the seventh win in a row. Wipptal, on the other hand, suffered the fourth defeat of the last five games like Ritten. Defending champion HKO is now third in the league table, WSV slipped out of the top-6 and is on seventh place.
Cortina loses for the first time after regular time
The VEU Feldkirch finished the run of S.G. Cortina Hafro. The Italians lost for the first time after regular time on Saturday. Feldkirch scored the 1:0 in the middle of the second period, with an empty net they increased to 2:0 just one second before the end of the game. In the league table the VEU is in tenth place, the SGC is in fifth place. The EC Bregenzerwald celebrated a 5:4 home victory against the EC-KAC II. The decision fell only three minutes before the end of the game. The Vienna Capitals Silver also celebrated a narrow 4:3 victory against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. Within two days the VCS celebrated two victories.
Lustenau and Zell am See convince
Both the EHC Lustenau at the Steel Wings Linz, as well as the EK Die Zeller Eisbären against the SHC Fassa Falcons could celebrate clear victories. The Vorarlberger clearly won with 7:0. It was the fifth victory from the past six games. In the league table, the EHC is in ninth place. The Steel Wings are still at the bottom of the league. The EK Die Zeller Eisbären celebrated a clar victory as well. The Salzburger did not give Fassa a chance in the 7:2 home win. Already after two periods Zell am See led with 6:1. The EKZ won both games of the week and occupies the eighth place in the league table. With 22 points they have one more point than the EHC Lustenau and are therefore currently the best Austrian team. Fassa is in twelfth place after their second defeat in series.
