Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey – HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice 4:2 (0:1; 2:1; 2:0)
The Asiago started with some uncertainties. Jesenice played and defended himself with confidence in their defensive third as they trying to start in the counterattack. The home team had the command of the operation but wasn’t incisive in the front of the opposite net. The first dangerous shot was of Colin Long. The lack of precision and low intensity were the real gaps of the home team. Jaka Ankerst scored the first goal of the evening with a fine diagonal. The hosts immediately tried to react but with lesser quality and only in the last minute of the first period but the Jesenice kept the one goal of difference after 20 minutes. During the second period Asiago went close to balance with Federico Benetti and Giulio Scandella but Stojanovic saved. After 26 minutes Asiago took 2 penalties: Scandella was in the penalty bench (with a 2 '+ 2'), as before Anthony Nigro. Frederic Cloutier was very ready in the double shorthanded but the goalie of Asiago could not refuse on the flip side of Miha Logar in the slot after a shot of Saso Rajsar from the blue line. Jure Sotlar after hit the crossbar. The Barrasso team was too nervous as they fell into penalties but Long served a good puck for Kris Kolanos that beat Stojanovic under the leg. After this goal Asiago changed the rythm as they played with more confidence. Magnabosco intercepted a puck near the slot of slovenian as he scored the tie (2:2). Minutes after minutes Asiago grew up but the second period finish in tie. During the third period Asiago didn’t find the best way to score but after 48 minutes, coach Barrasso called a time out to tidy the few ideas of his boys during a double powerplay. The home team came back on the ice as they found the fast movement of Long in the front of the opposite net. The puck went to the net after it be passed under the leg of Stojanovic and the post for the first advantage of yellow read team (3:2) during the match. The rhythms of the game were raised but the history didn’t find yet a final solution. The guests were always in the match. Kris Kolanos resolved the situation:  the former NHL attacker took the puck in the center ice, after the end of his penalty, and he scored in the empty net when missing 28 seconds to the end of third period.  Asiago beat Jesenice 4:2 as they won the semifinal series 3:2.
