HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice - HC Gherdeina valgardena.it 1:5 (0:2,0:0,1:3)
After two wins, Jesenice had their sights set on advancing to the semifinals in front of their home crowd, but the third line of Val Gardena put a spanner in the works for the Slovenians. David Galassiti gave the visitors the lead as early as the sixth minute and Samuel Moroder made it 0:2 before the end of the first period. The South Tyroleans were more than equal in the middle period, but neither side could score. With a brace by Hannes Kasslatter and Moroder, Val Gardena managed the preliminary decision shortly after the restart. Jesenice got on the scoreboard through Elo in the 51st minute, but Kasslatter scored an empty netter in the final minute to make it 1:5. After ten recent defeats, the "Furie" once again beat the Slovenians. Thus, the series continues at 2:1 for Jesenice on Tuesday in Wolkenstein.

EHC Lustenau - EK Die Zeller Eisbären 3:4 OT (1:2,1:0,1:1,0:1)
In the Rheinhalle, the Pinzgauers got off to a perfect start and put the EHC under pressure early on. Captain Hubert Berger (2nd) and Henrik Neubauer (11th) ensured a quick 2:0 lead. The second goal, however, was a wake-up call for the hosts and Kevin Puschnik (17th), who halved the deficit before the first siren. After the break, head coach Mike Flanagan's Lions got off to a better start and equalised through Elias Wallenta. Lustenau then pressed for the lead for the first time, but EKZ goalie Max Zimmermann was able to distinguish himself. In minute 53 Chris D'Alvise scored on power play to make it 3:2, but Berger (59th) sent the game into overtime with a one timer. After a goalless first overtime, Daniel Ban decided the game with a powerplay goal in the 92nd minute. Zell am See can now book their place in the semifinals on Tuesday in their home arena.

Rittner Buam - S.G. Cortina Hafro 1:0 OT (0:0,0:0,1:0)
The Rittner Buam cut the deficit to 1:2 in game three of the quarterfinal series against S.G. Cortina Hafro on Saturday night. After a real defensive battle, Jari Sailio redeemed the Blue-Red team in the home arena in the 76th minute with the 1:0 victory goal - and that in a shorthanded situation. After a counterattack, Sailio faked a shot, a Cortina defender rushed past and the Finnish forward sent the puck into the far corner. It was also the first playoff game in the Alps Hockey League to remain scoreless in regulation time. The "best-of-five" series will now continue with game four on Tuesday at the Olympic Stadium in Cortina.

Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey - Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan 6:4 (2:3,2:0,2:1)
Also in the third game of the quarterfinal series between Asiago and Sterzing the underdog took the lead. After two goals by Tobias Kofler, Asiago managed to equalise, but Bryson Cianfrone scored again in the 13th minute and the Broncos went into the first intermission with a 3:2 lead. In the middle period, however, the Masterround winners turned the game in their favour, Jose Magnabosco (25th) and Anthony Salinitri (34th) scored to make it 4:3. The home side made everything clear with a brace shortly after the restart and finally celebrated a 6:4 victory. While Asiago secured their ticket to the semifinals, Sterzing is still waiting for their first ever win in the AHL playoffs.
