Thu, 01.03.2018: HK SZ Olimpija – EK Zeller Eisbären 7:0 (1:0,3:0,3:0)
In their last regular season home game HK SZ Olimpija left no doubt they would be keeping all three points at home. From the opening face off the dragons were the better team in their duel with EK Zeller Eisbären. It took them some six minutes to take the lead thanks to Andrej Hebar. Despite some great chances Olimpija failed to beat Dominik Frank for the second time until 34th when Janez Orehek scored his second goal of the campaign. Until the final intermission Andrej Hebar added his second and Aljaz Uduc his first of the night. Aljaz Uduc picked up where he left off adding one more in 43rd minute. In the span of 10 seconds Maks Selan and Miha Pesjak also added their names to the scorers before the final buzzer for a trashing 7:0 Olimpija win. In the process Tilen Spreitzer also recorded his first AHL shutout.
Thu, 01.03.2018: HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice – HC Gherdeina valgardena.it 6:2 (1:0,2:1,3:1)
The home coach decided to rest goalie Saunders, so Vlahovič started in the net. Gherdeina player Roupec was awarded a 4 minute penalty after check to the head in the 6th minute. The home team did not manage to score on the powerplay despite creating a lot of chances. The first goal finally came from defender Kraigher in minute 13. In the second and third period the home team was the chief on the ice. In minute 27 Luka Kalan netted the 2:0, but only 40 seconds later, the visiting team managed to pull one back. But the Steelers stayed unimpressed and responded with four more goals. Finally Jesenice won 6:2 and confirmed third place after the regular season.
Thu, 01.03.2013: Sportivi Ghiaccio Cortina Hafro – Rittner Buam 5:3 (1:0,1:0,3:3)
Hannes Treibenreif was the goalkeeper of the visitors. The beginning of the game was very hard fought and pleasant. The Cortina, minute after minute, grew in intensity and play while the Ritten tried fast actions but Marco De Filippo made some good saves. In the middle of the period, Kris Kolanos created the first goal thanks to an invention by Riley Brace. Then in the second half the game was always very hard fought. But the protagonist was always Kolanos, who right in the middle of the match made the doubling of the Cortina after a good action by Zach Torquato. In the third time the game keept always very high in intensity and very funny. Kris Kolanos on rebound made his hat-trick in powerplay. The visitors immediately answered with Simon Kostner on rebound. But the Cortina has an extra gear and made two other goals with the brothers Michael and Alessandro Zanatta. The Rittne Buam tried to recover but the double by Markus Spinell didn’t reopen the game. The Cortina won for 5: 3 but was out of the playoffs. The Ritten lost the race for the first place in the standing.
Thu, 01.03.2018: Red Bull Hockey Juniors – Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 1935 1:5 (0:1,1:1,0:3)
There were few good chances in the first period. In minute 12 Rosa outplayed two defenseman, but he was stopped by goalie Wieser. But just moments later Bardaro grabbed the lead for the Leader in the first Power Play of the game. Only 54 second into the second period Gellert added the 2:0 in another Power Play with a bueliner. The Austrians responded in an intense game in minute 29: Östling deflected a shot from Jakubitzka - 1:2. The Italians were dangerous in another Power Play in period 2, but Nigro missed the open net. Shortly after the beginning of period 3 the Yellow-Reds netted their third goal: Bardaro needed just 40 seconds to beat goalie Wieser after a turnover. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors did not give up, but they could not produce good chances. Eight minutes before the end the guests decided the game with two goals within 64 seconds. Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 1935 won in Salzburg 5:1 and has won the regular Alps Hockey League season.
Thu, 01.03.2018: HC Neumarkt RIWEGA – HC Pustertal Wölfe 1:9 (0:4; 0:3; 1:2)
The Neumarkt was on the rink with the same team that lost for 4:3 on Tuesday in Wolkstein. Armin Helfer and goalkeeper Alexander Kinkelin was back in Pustertal team. Danny Elliscasis was always absent for yellowblack team. The two teams immediately put a lot of energy into the early stages of play. But the first penalty of the meeting was already decisive for the Wolves. After 5 minutes, the defender Nick Bruneteau scored the first goal of the evening in powerplay with a shot from distance. But the Neumarkt put a lot of effort with fast actions in attack and good defense. After 12 minutes the Bruneck doubled: Raphael Andergassen deflected a shot from distance. The game remained fought but in the last two minutes the Wolves advanced in the result. First the visitors built a quick action with the final goal of Sean Ringorose and then after 42 seconds Simon Berger. Bruneck closed the first period in advance for 4: 0. During the second period the Wolves were always very concrete: after just 56 seconds there was the network of Erik Pance for 5: 0. At this point the race seemed already decided but the Neumarkt tried with great insistence the first network. But before the end of the second half, Bruneck advanced in the result with Armin Helfer and Max Oberrauch for 7:0 after 40 minutes of games. In the last period the beginning was always in favor of Brunico that scored with Maximilian Lancsar. The net of Neumarkt, however, was defended by Kristian Budinsky instead of Daniel Morandell. Then immediately after there was the first goal of Wild Geese: Jakub Muzik received a long pass and then he overcame Thomas Tragust. The last goal was of the Wolves with Max Oberrauch who fixed the score on 9:1. With this result Bruneck remained in the running for fourth place.
Thu, 01.03.2018: WSV Sterzing Broncos Weihenstephan – EC-KAC II 10:1 (3:0; 6:0; 1:1)
The Sterzing attacked from the first face off as they led decisively towards the opponents' net. The first goal of the Broncos came however from a counter-attack finalized by Ivan De Luca. The Italian team puta a lot of pressure to find other goals while the Klagenfurt was dangerous when the Broncos made some mistakes. After 12 minutes the home team doubled again with a speed action by Matthias Mantinger. Then before the end of the first period there was Giffen Nyren's goal for 3: 0 Broncos. The second period opened as it was closed: still in the goal was Nyren in powerplay action. Then from this moment, the Sterzing had full and complete control of the game as they realized before the end of the second period another five goals with Lee, Erlacher, Mantinger, Duffy e Felicetti. In the third time the Sterzing was satisfied with its result. Klagenfurt made the only goal of the match with Tommaso Topatigh. For the Italian forward it was the first goal of the season. Then the last goal of the match was of Ben Duffy who fixed the final score on 10: 1 for home team. The Broncos earned the playoffs spot with this victory.
