This summer marked the end of an important chapter in Sam Harvey's career. After making the move to Europe ahead of the 2022/23 season, the Canadian spent the majority of the following years between the pipes for HCB Südtirol Alperia. His time in Bolzano was interrupted only by a brief stint with Finnish side Lukko during the 2023/24 campaign. Now, Harvey returns to familiar territory for the first time as an opponent.

Throughout his time with the Foxes, Harvey consistently delivered impressive performances. In his first European season in 2022/23, he posted an outstanding .9319 save percentage. After recording a .916 save percentage the following year, he once again excelled in 2024/25 with a remarkable .9303. Even in his final season wearing the Bolzano jersey, Harvey remained a reliable presence in net, finishing with a .9129 save percentage.

Foxes Flying High Even Without Harvey
Despite losing their longtime starting goaltender, HCB Südtirol Alperia have continued to impress this season. The Foxes have been in excellent form and currently lead the win2day ICE Hockey League standings. While Harvey has started a new chapter with the Sharks, Bolzano have shown that they remain one of the league's top contenders even without their former netminder between the pipes.

A Key Presence Between the Pipes for the Sharks
Harvey has carried his strong form into his new chapter with HC TIWAG Innsbruck. With a .9271 save percentage so far this season, the Canadian has quickly established himself as one of the Sharks' key players. Innsbruck has recorded six wins and six losses with Harvey in net, making for a solid start to the campaign.

The Sharks have been particularly impressive in tight contests. All three of their games that went beyond regulation have ended in Innsbruck victories, highlighting the team's ability to deliver in crucial moments.

Another Shot at His Former Teammates
Harvey has already faced his former club once this season. On September 27, the Sharks hosted HCB Südtirol Alperia in Innsbruck but came up just short in a 4-3 defeat.

Wednesday night, however, brings a different kind of reunion. For the first time, Harvey will take to the ice in his former home arena wearing the opposing team's jersey. Whether the Canadian can get the better of his former teammates and help the Sharks pull off an upset against the league leaders remains to be seen.

Puck drop is scheduled for 19:45, with the game available LIVE on Sporteurope.TV.
