EK Zeller Eisbären - SIJ Acroni Jesenice
On December 28, the Alps Hockey League's marquee matchup takes center stage. League leaders EK Zeller Eisbären face their closest rival, SIJ Acroni Jesenice. The Eisbären have won six of their last seven games, solidifying their position at the top. However, Jesenice is on fire, coming off five straight wins to pile pressure on the leaders. A victory on Saturday would see Jesenice take over the top spot. The Eisbären, though, claimed the first head-to-head clash this season.

Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan - Hockey Unterland Cavaliers
The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan host the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers on Saturday in a mid-table clash. Only one point separates the two teams. The Broncos are among the league’s hottest squads, winning seven of their last eight games. Unterland is also in fine form with three wins in their last four outings. The Cavaliers took the first meeting of the season 4–1.

EC Bregenzerwald - KHL Sisak
KHL Sisak continues their push for a Top-5 finish with a double-header this weekend. The Croatian side visits EC Bregenzerwald on both Friday and Saturday. Sisak sits four points behind fifth-place Cortina but has three games in hand. EC Bregenzerwald, currently in 11th place, has struggled lately, managing just one win in their last five games.

Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel - HK RST Pellet Celje
EC Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel has had a rocky December. With just one win from their last four games, the Adler slipped to fourth place and lost ground on the league leaders. HK Celje, winless in five games, finds themselves in 10th place. Interestingly, Celje took the first meeting of the season 4–2.

HC Meran/o Pircher - S.G. Cortina Hafro
S.G. Cortina Hafro is battling to stay in the Top-5 as they take the ice on Saturday. After back-to-back losses, their cushion over sixth-placed KHL Sisak has shrunk to just four points. HC Meran/o sits in eighth place. After a four-game winning streak, they recently fell to the Wipptal Broncos. Cortina won the first head-to-head matchup of the season in convincing fashion, 6–2.

HC Gherdeina valgardena.it - Rittner Buam SkyAlps
The Rittner Buam SkyAlps have lost touch with the league’s top duo in recent weeks. With just two wins in their last seven outings, Ritten has dropped to third place and trails the leaders by eight points. Facing the league’s bottom team, HC Gherdeina, the “Buam” are determined to grab three points. Gherdeina has lost their last five games.
