Since 2003, the month of November has been dedicated to men's health, the keyword being "Movember" (a play on words from MOustache and NoVEMBER) - to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer, but also men's health in general. The players and coaches at HCB Südtirol Alperia were particularly committed again this year. "With HCB we made a video of the transformation from beard to moustache and asked the fans to follow along and do the same for the month of Movember," Mike Dalhuisen tells us about the club activity.

The 33-year-old defender is known for his social commitment and has supported the Movember movement for many years. "I participated in Movember for the same reason everyone else did which is to raise awareness. I am a big supporter of charity work and always try to be involved with anything charity related if I can. The look gets lots of attention and it’s a great way to spread the message when someone notices it or asks about it."

Movember jerseys made a comeback in Linz
The Steinbach Black Wings Linz also revived the Movember tradition, which has been very popular in the past. Numerous players and fans wore a visible sign on their faces and drew attention to this important issue with full beards, moustaches or goatees. This year, the club also went a few steps further: On the one hand, the Upper Austrians slipped into specially Movember jerseys for the home game against Ljubljana, and on the other hand, the cracks took off most of their equipment for a calendar. Both actions served a good cause, as the main part of the proceeds will be donated to the Cancer Aid Upper Austria.
