Black Wings beat Straubing Tigers again
EHC LIWEST Back Wings Linz had a perfect start at Straubing and got an early 2:0-lead thanks goals from Patrick Spannring (1.) and Sebastien Piche (4.). The Upper Austrians then were the chiefs on the ice. Late in the first period the Steel Citizens also had some luck, when the Tigers hit the post. In minute 26 Dan DaSilva extended the lead to 3:0 after a perfect counter attack. The Austrians had chances for a higher lead, but failed to score again. The Germans came back in a Power Play and after a quick attack – 2:3. In the third period the hosts even equalized in another Power Play. But then no more goals were scored and so a Shoot Out followed: Locke, Lebler and Broda, they all were successful for Linz, while Janny stopped one Penalty from the German team.

Bulldogs on Fire
Before their home-opener against the Ravensburg Towerstars (DEL/2) the Dornbirn Bulldogs welcomed Andrei Taratukhin (RUS), who was already twice Champion in Russia and has even won the KHL once, on a Try-Out. The Germans took the lead at Dornbirn twice, but the West-Austrians both times found an answer and were then really on Fire in the second half of the game: Kevin Macierzynski (35.), Jerome Leduce (37./pp2), Martin Grabher Meier (38./pp1), Philipp Pöschmann (47.), Raphael Wolf (56.), Jamie Arniel (54.) and Ziga Pance (57.) turned a 1:2 in a 8:2-win!
