With Niklas Würschl, the Steinbach Black Wings Linz bring a league-experienced right-shooter from the spusu Vienna Capitals to Linz. Despite existing contract in the capital, both teams agreed on a transfer of the 23-year-old Carinthian with Swedish passport. The defenseman signed with the Capitals last year and in his first full professional season brought it to 37 games in the Regular Season and eleven more appearances in the playoffs. Before that, the Klagenfurt native learned to play hockey at his hometown club, but completed the main part of his education at the Swedish top club Rögle. In 2018, the 180-centimeter defender returned to his home club and has already been crowned champion twice in his young career with the KAC. In total, Würschl was on the ice 106 times in the win2day ICE Hockey League, recording five goals and five assists.

The Linz team is also loaning out 20-year-old Carinthian Christoph Tialler. Another skilled defender, the young star collected his first playing minutes in the fighting team for the KAC in the last two seasons. In addition to 15 appearances in the win2day ICE Hockey League, the 184-centimeter defender was a regular in the KAC' Future Team. 100 games in the Alps Hockey League led Tialler to the World Juniors in Canada twice in a row. In Linz, the Carinthian is expected to compete for the spot of Gerd Kragl, who is successfully working on his comeback after injury, but will still be absent for the start of training.
