Just one day before their home game against EC-KAC, the Upper Austrians have signed Slovakian center Dalibor Bortnak. The 30-year-old center last played for the Slovakian first division club Poprad. This season, the 194-centimeter, 92-pound crack made eight appearances, scoring one goal and recording one assist. Prior to that, Bortnak won the championship title in his home country's top division with Banska Bystrica in 2017 and 2018.

The newcomer is already in Linz and will train with the Stahlstädtern for the first time today. The registration formalities are also underway, so the newcomer could make his debut in the Black Wings Jersey as early as tomorrow against the record champions.

Gregor Baumgartner, General Manager of the Black Wings: "With Dalibor, we were able to sign an internationally experienced player who will certainly liven up our game. Especially his physicality in combination with his overview and understanding of the game convinced us. In addition, Dalibor is a specialist for shorthanded play and bullies."

Dalibor Bortnak: "After such a long time in Slovakia, I'm looking forward to the challenge in Linz. I've heard only good things about the organization and the team and now I'm happy to be a part of it."
