HCB lands proven DEL scorer
Shane Gersich joins HCB Südtirol Alperia as a high-impact addition to their forward corps. The 28-year-old American arrives from the Iserlohn Roosters of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL), where he notched 37 points (16 goals, 21 assists) last season. Known for his speed and versatility, Gersich can play both center and wing. He’s a reliable two-way forward who combines a scoring touch with strong playmaking skills.

Gersich brings a winning pedigree: He captured the Calder Cup in the AHL, won an NCAA championship with the University of North Dakota, and claimed U18 World Championship gold with Team USA in 2014. He also suited up for five NHL games with the Washington Capitals — including two playoff appearances — during the team’s 2018 Stanley Cup-winning season.

VSV extends Lindner through 2027
VSV has made a key roster move of its own, signing defenseman Philipp Lindner to a contract extension that keeps him in Villach until at least 2027. The 29-year-old served as an assistant captain last season and remains one of the team’s most consistent performers. In 54 games, Lindner recorded 26 points (10 goals, 16 assists), delivered 241 hits, and blocked 86 shots.

With 485 career appearances in the win2day ICE Hockey League, the Innsbruck native has amassed 152 points (43 goals, 109 assists) and has firmly established himself as a cornerstone of the VSV blue line.
