Young Salzburg team celebrate success over Bratislava
EC Red Bull Salzburg narrowly prevailed against the iClinic Bratislava Capitals with 3:2. While it was already clear for the Salzburg team before the encounter that they will contest the Pick Round without bonus points, the iClinic Bratislava Capitals still have a chance to finish seventh and thus earn six bonus points. After three wins in a row, the league newcomer from Slovakia suffered another defeat. For Salzburg it was the first win after two defeats. The Red Bulls went into the race against Bratislava with a young formation: Juniors Maximilian Rebernig, Oskar Maier, Paul Stapelfeldt and for the first time 19-year-old Villach native Lucas Thaler, who transferred to the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy from Mora IK (SWE), got a chance to prove himself in the ICE Hockey League. This was especially successful for Thaler, who scored his first goal on his debut to make it 2-0 in the middle period. Bratislava, however, fought their way back into the match and equalized ten minutes before the end. Alexander Rauchenwald then ensured the decision.

Bulldogs secure maximum number of bonus points

In the direct duel with their pursuers, Moser Medical Graz99ers, the Dornbirn Bulldogs celebrated a 7:1 victory and fixed with it the sixth place in the basic round phase 1. Thus the Vorarlberger start with the maximum number of eight bonus points into the qualification round. For the Graz team, everything is still possible between seventh and ninth place. Dornbirn made the regular-season sweep (Phase 1) against the Graz99ers perfect with the clear success. For the Styrians it was a damper after two home wins in a row. William Rapuzzi in particular left his mark on the game. With four goals, the Bulldogs top scorer extended his goal-scoring streak to four games. No player has scored more than four goals in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League this season. The 31-year-old US American celebrated three of his goals within ten minutes. The Vorarlberg team was much more efficient throughout the entire match and was able to record its highest win of the season.

KAC secure second place
The EC-KAC won the penultimate game of the regular season Phase 1 as guests of the spusu Vienna Capitals and thus fixed the second place and two bonus points for the Pick Round. For the spusu Vienna Capitals it was already clear before the encounter that they would have to do without bonus points in the round of the top 5 teams. Without any pressure, the Capitals started strongly into the match and gained a 2:0 lead in the first period. However, Samuel Witting brought the turning point with his first goal of the season. The KAC eventually prevailed 3-2, extending their point streak against the Viennese. In the last 13 duels, the Klagenfurter never went home empty-handed - ten of them they could even win.

Bolzano secures CHL ticket
HCB Südtirol secured an early first place in the first phase of the regular season on Friday and thus clinched the first ticket for the upcoming season of the Champions Hockey League. The South Tyrolean team beat EC Grand Immo VSV 5-0 and thus cannot be ousted from first place in the final round. The Foxes confirmed their superiority in their last home game of the first phase. With 48 of 60 possible points, the South Tyroleans are also the most successful team in the home arena. Against the Villach team they already celebrated their eighth home win in a row. For EC Grand Immo VSV it was already clear before the encounter that they will start the Qualification Round with one point. Bolzano controlled the action on the ice from the start. In the first two periods, the South Tyroleans scored twice each and eventually prevailed 5-0. Five different cracks scored for the South Tyroleans.

Black Wings 1992 recharge self-confidence
At the end of the first phase of the regular season, the Steinbach Black Wings 1992 are really getting going. The team from Linz won 4:2 against HC TIWAG Innsbruck and thus gained the maximum of six points in the last two games. For the Upper Austrians, however, it has been clear for some time that they will finish the first phase in last place. Despite the defeat, HC TIWAG Innsbruck still has the possibility to capture four bonus points. After the Innsbruck dominated the first three duels of the season, now the Black Wings managed to win the first duel in 1992. The Sharks still captured the lead in this encounter. From this point on, however, the guests took control and eventually won 4:2.
