Top-of-the-table clash: Bolzano v Klagenfurt
The top match of the round takes place in Bolzano. HCB have picked up points in every game so far and most recently secured a win in Salzburg. Despite suffering their first defeat of the season (2–4 against Milan), Klagenfurt continue to top the win2day ICE Hockey League table. It is also a clash between two strong power-play units. The South Tyroleans have won their first two home games, but Klagenfurt have come out on top in their last three matches at the Sparkasse Arena.

Milan visit Villach
Milan caused a stir once again with their victory in Klagenfurt and travel to Villach brimming with confidence. The VSV failed to score on Wednesday and suffered a 0–1 defeat in Székesfehérvár. The match against the league newcomers marks the Blue and Whites’ first home game of the season.

Pustertal aiming to extend their home run
Following a successful start to the season and their victory in Graz, Pustertal head into their home match against Ljubljana on a high. Bruneck have won their first two home matches and have also emerged victorious in their last six encounters with Olimpija at the Intercable Arena. The Slovenians recently secured a clear victory over the VSV.

Graz hopes for returning players in Linz
The Steinbach Black Wings moved up to fourth place with a 5–3 win in Budapest. They now face the champions, Graz, who are hoping for the return of further players and could field Henri Kiviaho in goal for the first time. The Styrian side have won their last three matches. On Saturday, the 99ers are back in action with a home game against Innsbruck.

Vienna aiming for tenth consecutive win
HC TIWAG Innsbruck begin their road trip on Friday in Vienna. The Vienna Capitals have suffered two defeats in their last two matches, whilst the sharks arrive with renewed confidence following their 5–4 victory over the Pioneers. The Viennese have won the last nine matches.

First Hungarian derby of the season
The first Hungarian derby of the season is coming up. Whilst Fehérvár have recorded three wins from six matches and sit in seventh place, FTC-Telekom have only three points to their name. Last season, Fehérvár won all four derbies.

Pioneers and Salzburg need points
Both the Pioneers Vorarlberg and EC Red Bull Salzburg are still searching for consistency. Despite six defeats so far, the Pioneers have put up a competitive performance, whilst Salzburg, with just one win from six matches, are in desperate need of a victory.
