The semifinal series between HCB Südtirol Alperia and the spusu Vienna Capitals continues on Wednesday. After five home victories in a two-day rhythm so far, the Bolzano team will have the chance to advance to the final in their next visit to Vienna. The sixth duel will be broadcast live by the TV partners.

Standings in the "best-of-7" semifinal series: 2:3

  • Bolzano regained the lead in Monday's hotly contested semifinal - it was the fifth home win of the series
  • The South Tyroleans trailed twice but turned the game around to get a 4:2 win
  • HCB have won six of the eleven duels this season
  • The Viennese have been very strong at home in the playoffs so far - all duels at the Erste Bank Arena have been won so far
  • The Caps have even won their last six home playoff games including last season
  • The Viennese won 18 of 29 home games against HCB
  • This season, the Foxes won two out of five duels in Vienna - the last victory came on 16.2.2021 when Dennis Robertson scored in overtime to make it 4:3
  • Bolzano once before went into a Game 6 of the series with a 3:2 lead (2018 quarterfinal against KAC) and promptly won it
  • So far, the Capitals have trailed 3:2 four times in the playoffs, only once turning the series in their favour (2005 vs. KAC)
  • Ty Loney leads the league in goals (36) and plus/minus (+37)
  • With nine goals and six assists, the Caps forward is also the current playoff top scorer
  • Brett Findlay is his Bolzano's top player with five goals and six assists in the postseason so far
  • HCB is still the best team in powerplay (22.6%, 46 goals in 204 powerplays)
  • In the playoffs, however, the Capitals (18.9%) are ahead of the foxes (17.5%)
