HCB Südtirol Alperia also won its fifth home game of the season on Friday. Already after 38 seconds Dominic Alberga had to go to the penalty box - the game was very heated at times - and the Graz team took advantage of the first power play: After a capital mistake in the HCB defence Sam Antonitsch deflected decisively for 0:1. The Styrians continued to set the tone in the next few minutes, only two penalties against Michael Boivin allowed Bolzano to come back. The best chance of the home side in the first period was missed by Christian Thomas, who ran alone on 99er-Goalie Engstrand and shot over the goal. In the middle period, Cole Hults was sent to the showers early, but the visitors did not manage to score even with 5 against 3. After the penalties had expired, Domenic Alberga scored the equaliser for the league leaders. The 30-year-old forward netted a very impressive backhand top-shelf goal. Bolzano turned the game in their favour in the third period, but also had the necessary luck with the first ICE goal by defender Cameron Ginnetti. His pass was deflected by a defenders' skate into the own goal. And only a little later Thomas provided the decision when he put the puck into the goal with a diving shot. The 3:1 home victory extended HCB's lead in the standings.

Villach and Fehervar celebrate shutout victories
HC Pustertal came to Villach on the back of five defeats. The last team in the table had good offensive scenes in the first minutes. In the course of the first period, however, the guests acted too undisciplined, three penalties let the momentum move to Villach's side. But the hosts could not capitalise on this. After a goalless first period, the game remained open until Andrew Desjardins scored his first goal for Villach. In the 37th minute, the 36-year-old ex-NHL player scored with a direct shot to take the lead - after two periods, the Carinthians were ahead 1:0. Pustertal took command in the third period, but VSV goalie JP Lamoureux was always the final stop. So it remained 1:0 and Villach celebrated their first league home win against the team from Brunico.

After the Pioneers had taken all seven points in their previous four home games, the league newcomers were also hoping for an increase in points against Fehervar. But the Hungarians were dominant from the start, but failed time and again in the first period against Vorarlberg goalie David Madlener. It took until the 35th minute when Istvan Bartalis scored for the visitors' lead. A brace by Csanad Erdely early in the third period meant the preliminary decision for the dominant Hungarians. The final goal was scored by Anze Kuralt and Fehervar goalie Olivier Roy recorded his first shutout.
