Samuel Harvey started his career in the QMJHL, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he won two championships and the CHL Memorial Cup in the jersey of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, achieving catch rates up to 94.6%. After a year in USports with the University of New Brunswick, where he was selected to the All-Rookie Team (91.2% in the Regular Season and 94.6% in the Playoffs, totaling 18 wins and 3 losses), he moved to the Sharks organization: with the San Jose Barracuda farm team, he made seven appearances in the American Hockey League (90.4%, 2 wins, 4 losses, 2 OT). Last season he got another seven times of ice time for Barracuda, but he spent most of the season as the starting goalie in the ECHL in the jersey of Fort Wayne Komets: between Regular Season (91.6%) and Playoff (91.3%) he played 41 games with 26 wins, 11 losses and 4 OTs.

Samuel Harvey: "After the past season I was looking for a new challenge. Europe was not only an option for me, but a goal. I had several offers and together with my wife I chose Bolzano, because it is a club with a long tradition that fights for the title every year. When I was younger, I played two tournaments in Switzerland and I have good memories of them. I observed that there is a lot of talent in European ice hockey and that the way of playing there is very fast and exciting. The experiences of the last years in the American Hockey League were very important for me: I learned a lot, both in the positive and negative games. In summary, it was a growing and an important basis for a successful start in Europe. I want to continue to improve, to win as many games as possible, to perform consistently so that my teammates can rely on me. If we want to lift the trophy in the end, we have to perform as a cohesive unit and find the right chemistry."
