Mike Dalhuisen was born in the Nederlands and moved with his family to Canada at the age of 11, where he started playing hockey. First in the youth teams, then in Quinnipiac University, before signing his first professional contract in the American Hockey League with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in 2013. He played in the second American League as well as in the ECHL the following two seasons before returning to Europe in 2015.

His first stop was in Denmark with Esbjerg Energy, where he won the championship and was one of the main players. He then signed on in the VHL, where he spent two seasons with Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk in Kazakhstan (121 games - 57 points). In 2018, he moved to the DEL to Bad Nauheim. In the following year, his adventure in Slovakia began: in three seasons in the jersey of HK Dukla Michalovce and HK Poprad, he brought it to a total of 147 appearances and scored 79 points. He also started the 2021/22 season in Poprad and finished it in the win2day ICE Hockey League with Salzburg, where he was under contract from February 15th and became champion.

"I did extensive research on the city, the area and the fans and after a clarifying conversation with Coach Hanlon, I chose Bolzano," Dalhuisen explains. "My expectations are the same every year: I want to win. In the last nine seasons, I have played in seven finals, winning two championships. Therefore, I expect to be part of a strong team that works hard and wants to go all the way. The championship has top level, in the past season I had an unforgettable experience with Salzburg and it was a wonderful feeling to lift the winner's trophy. But now I am in Bolzano, also here the motto is always to win. I want to leave a positive impression and form a unit with the team, the fans and everything that belongs to the environment of the Foxes".
