Due to the injury of Justin Fazio, HCB Südtirol Alperia was forced to become active on the transfer market once again. The Italian-Canadian goalkeeper suffered a muscle injury shortly before the end of the match against EC-KAC and will have to take a break for a few weeks. With Leland Irving also still out of action due to injury, the foxes had already signed Frederic Cloutier and now had to look for a goalkeeper for the second time. The choice fell on the netminder of the Italian national team Andreas Bernard.

For the 30-year-old brother of HCB captain Anton Bernard, it is a return to the white and red club. 12 years ago he won the 18th Italian championship title, the Italian Cup and the Italian Supercup as backup goalie with Bolzano. The following year he decided to move to Finland: for two years he played in SaiPa's U20s, debuted in the first team in 2011 and therefore in the Liiga. Until 2015 he alternated between Liiga (always with SaiPa) and Mestis, until he made his home in Pori: in the jersey of Porin Ässät he was the regular goalkeeper for four seasons with a save percentage between 90.5 and 92.5%, at the same time he also took the position in the team of the Italian national team. In the final spurt of the 2018/19 season, he was under contract with Mannheim in the DEL, but did not get any ice time there. Last season, he signed with MAC Újbuda, which played in the Slovak championship last year. Bernard will make the trip with the Foxes to Bratislava for the away game on Saturday.

Innsbruck brings in experienced defender
HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie strengthened their defense with the experienced Swede Mathias Porseland, who will receive a tryout contract and could make his debut as early as Sunday's away game against EC-KAC. The 34-year-old played three seasons in the KHL and was under contract in the top leagues in Sweden, Finland and the Czech Republic, among others. Most recently, Porseland was engaged by Katowice in Poland. "Mathias will bring us more stability in defense. He has proven his skills in many top leagues around the world. Mathias is looking forward to the new challenge and is hungry to get on the ice," said head coach Mitch O'Keefe.
