The Canadian defender was skilled at hin hometown Rimouski (Quebec) and was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings as the 90th pick in the third round in 2009. In 2011 he made his American Hockey League debut in the jersey of Grand Rapids Griffins, with whom he won the Calder Cup in 2013. It was the first title in the club's history. Until 2015 he was commuting between AHL and ECHL. In the 2015/16 season he moved to England to join the Cardiff Devils: in the Welsh capital he became one of the top performers and twice champion.

Gleason Fournier: "I am looking forward to Bolzano. I have received only positive reports about the club, the city and the fans. For me, it's an opportunity to prove myself here too and to contribute my best to the team's success. I expect ice hockey with high speed and intensity, exactly what I prefer. Due to the pandemic the last season had to be interrupted, so my thirst for victories is stronger than ever".
