Just 24 hours after a 1-4 loss in their first test against HC Košice, Hydro Fehérvár AV19 bounced back with a 4-3 victory on Saturday. Goals from Horváth and Zloty gave the Hungarians a 2-0 lead after the first period, but the visitors fought back to level in the second. Two goals from Anže Kuralt ultimately secured Fehérvár’s first preseason win.

HCB Südtirol Alperia began their preseason campaign in emphatic fashion, defeating HC Gherdëina 12-0 in a test match in Corvara. The Bozen side dominated the Alps Hockey League champions throughout, with forward Brad McClure netting a hat-trick.

EC Red Bull Salzburg were beaten in the final of the Red Bulls Salute 2026 in Zell am See by EHC Biel. The Swiss side, making their tournament debut, won convincingly 6-2. After falling behind 0-4 in the first period, the Red Bulls reduced the deficit to 2-4 in the second thanks to power-play goals from Benjamin Nissner and Jayden Lee. However, Biel restored their four-goal cushion in the third period and were clear and deserved winners.

In their second game of the Energie AG Motor Cup, the Vienna Capitals lost 2-6 to hosts HC Motor České Budějovice. In their second match within 24 hours, the Viennese hampered themselves with several unnecessary penalties, conceding four of their six goals while shorthanded. Leon Wallner and Jérémy Grégoire scored for the Caps in the third period.

Steinbach Black Wings Linz produced a solid performance at the Vinschgau Cup opener but narrowly lost to HC Litvínov. After an early deficit, the Upper Austrians turned the game around in the first period with goals from Trenton Bliss and Graham Knott. Both teams matched each other at high tempo throughout, but the Czechs ultimately came out on top 3-2.
