HCB Südtirol Alperia also celebrated a clear victory in its second game of the season - in the South Tyrolean derby - and thus remains at the top of the win2day ICE Hockey League. The Moser Medical Graz99ers and Olimpija Ljubljana also remain unbeaten. The latter prevailed against EC-KAC after overtime. The spusu Vienna Capitals won the premiere on ORF Sport+ - it was the first win of the season for the Viennese team.
HCB Südtirol Alperia remain at the top of the table after the opening weekend of the win2day ICE Hockey League. After the 5:0 victory over Steinbach Black Wings Linz on Friday, the Foxes celebrated a 5:2 derby win against HC Pustertal. Cole Hults scored a brace in the derby. The two-time champions now have a goal difference of 10:2 after their second game.
Graz99ers start with maximum points
The Moser Medical Graz99ers have also achieved maximum points after two games. The Styrians won 4:2 against HC TIWAG Innsbruck on Sunday. After trailing early on, the 99ers fired the turbo in the middle third, in which they scored three goals, and turned the game around. Graz finally prevailed 4:2. Kevin Roy promptly scored against his former team from Tyrol. With this victory, Graz are the only team apart from HCB Südtirol Alperia to hold the maximum of six points.
Ljubljana: Third club with a clean sheet
The third club without a defeat is Olimpija Ljubljana. The Slovenian representative of the win2day ICE Hockey League celebrated an overtime victory over the second team from Carinthia, EC-KAC, after the opening win against EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV on Friday. The KAC went ahead three times in their second home game of the season, but Ljubljana always followed suit and Kale Kerbashian finally decided the game in overtime.
Salzburg and Vienna celebrate first wins
EC Red Bull Salzburg recorded their first win after their bitter opening defeat and are now fourth in the table. However, Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey clearly owned the start of this encounter. The northern Italians built up a 2:0 lead by the 27th minute. However, the Red Bulls equalized within three minutes with a double strike in the middle third. The reigning champions finally celebrated a 4:3 victory - captain Thomas Raffl scored a brace.
The spusu Vienna Capitals won the premiere on ORF Sport+. Although EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV controlled the first two periods, the Eagles were unable to build a lead, partly because Caps goalie Tyler Parks shone with numerous saves. After Villach took the lead in the middle period, the Viennese managed to equalize shortly afterwards while short-handed. The Caps took command in the final period and took the lead with Brett Kemp's league debut goal. The Viennese finally prevailed 3:2 and celebrated their first win of the season. Villach remain without points after their first two games in the win2day ICE Hockey League.
