Bolzano, Villach and Graz announce transfers

HCB Südtirol Alperia, the EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV and the Moser Medical Graz99ers have each signed a new forward. While the Foxes have signed Matt Bradley, a familiar face in the win2day ICE Hockey League, VSV has opted for the offensive power of a forward who won the Alps Hockey League title last season. The 99ers, on the other hand, have strengthened their ranks with Canadian Marcus Vela, who was last active in Slovakia.

Matt Bradley returns to ICE
HCB Südtirol Alperia has signed Italian-Canadian Matt Bradley for the 2024-25 season. The 27-year-old from Vancouver thus returns to the win2day ICE Hockey League, where he previously played for the Vienna Capitals. Bradley brings extensive experience from the DEL, where he most recently played for the Straubing Tigers, as well as from the ECHL and the American Hockey League. In his time with the spusu Vienna Capitals, he scored an impressive 104 points in 89 games in less than two seasons.

VSV signs Alps champion
EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV has signed American forward Max Coatta. The 30-year-old Coatta is regarded as a fast and dangerous player who made a significant contribution to the Rittner Buam's championship title in the Alps Hockey League last season. With 68 points in 53 games, including 34 goals, he impressively demonstrated his scoring ability. Coatta also brings valuable experience from the ECHL and AHL and will play a central role in Villach's offense under neo-VSV coach Tray Tuomie - the champion coach of the Rittner Buam.

Graz sign Marcus Vela
After Frank Hora, the Moser Medical Graz99ers have signed Marcus Vela, another player from Banska Bystrica. Marcus Vela is 185 cm tall and weighs 96 kg and will play the center position for the Graz99ers. Vela himself has excellent skating, can read and control the game very well and also brings a physical component to the game. Marcus Vela already stood out during his time in the NCAA and wore the “C” at the Univ. of New Hampshire in the 2018/2019 season, among others. The forward then gained experience in the ECHL (118 games/34 goals/29 assists) and the AHL (51 games/6 goals/6 assists). In the 2022/2023 season, the newcomer was under contract with Västerviks IK and MoDo Hockey in Sweden. He scored 20 goals and 17 assists. Last season, the center impressed in Slovakia with Banska Bystrica, recording 21 goals and 30 assists.
