The game in Innsbruck was a mere 18 seconds old when Mike Blunden opened the scoring. The hosts were not shocked and pressed for the equalizer but Stach and Lammers missed. Bolzano took a 1:0 lead into the first intermission and were more active in the middle frame. The foxes failed to extend the lead because of Innsbruck's goalie Janne Juvonen who made his debut. With five minutes to go in the second John Lammers tied it at one but now everything went quickly. Matt MacKenzie restored Bolzano's lead on power play but Philipp Lindner lit the lamp for another equalizer even before the second intermission. Early in the third the hosts came close to go ahead for the first time but Michael Boivin could not find the back of the net. Soon later the champions celebrated their third goal when Angelo Miceli put a rebound home. Afterwards Bolzano played a great defensive game and killed the clock successfully.

Dornbirn signs Brendan O'Donnell
Dornbirn Bulldogs have announced the signing of forward Brendan O'Donnell. Last season the Canadian left North America for the first time and joined Chinese KHL side Kunlun Red Star where he played 25 games. He started the 2018-19 season with Finnish side KooKoo on tryout but did not make the first team. Now he signed with Dornbirn where he should become a key player on the Dave MacQueen team. Czech player Antonin Boruta has left the Bulldogs on the other hand.
