Referees: OFNER, STERNAT, Nothegger, Seewald. | >> PPV-Livestream <<
The duel between Steinbach Black Wings Linz and EC Red Bull Salzburg (supplementary game of January 6th) is the one between the last team in the standings and the leader. Salzburg (34 games) has scored 1.153 points per game more than Linz (33). In the last 17 consecutive games, the "Red Bulls" have always took one point, but on Sunday they gave up their winning streak in a 3-2 home defeat after overtime against Graz. For the first time this season, Salzburg finally had to admit defeat after leading after 20 minutes. Thomas Raffl is expected to be back in the lineup for the top-ranked team, while Tolvanen, Schreier, Loney, Wukovits, Järvinen and Thaler will be missing. While Salzburg recently gave away a two-goal lead, Linz turned around a two-goal deficit. The Upper Austrians won 3:2 against Innsbruck, thanks to Brian Lebler: The 33-year-old scored the decisive brace in the final period and thus became league’s best goal scorer. With an upright goal-scoring streak over three games, he now stands at 22 goals for the season. Salzburg's Peter Schneider is second with 20 goals. The two duels so far this season have gone to the "Red Bulls", who are without defeat in Linz for six games. The Upper Austrians are without a goal in home games against Salzburg for 138 minutes and 37 seconds.

Tue, 18.01.2022, 7.15 pm: spusu Vienna Capitals – EC-KAC
Referees: HRONSKY, SIEGEL, Durmis, Riecken. | >> PPV-Livestream <<
Tuesday’s second game (supplementary match of the 18th round) has a trend-setting character, as both the spusu Vienna Capitals and the EC-KAC hold 56 points after 34 games each (1.647 average) and are in fifth (KAC) and sixth place in the table. For both teams it is about collecting important points in the race for the top-6 and for the early playoff qualification with a win. Klagenfurt returns to action twelve days after its forced break, but still has to do without convalescent Nick Petersen, Thomas Koch, Dennis Sticha, Johannes Bischofberger, Jakob Holzer and Daniel Obersteiner. Vienna, meanwhile, played two home games, defeating Graz (1:0) and losing to Bolzano (1:2 OT). The last three home games against the reigning champions ended without a win for Vienna. The last home win dates back to February 29th, 2020 (2:1) after overtime. Conversely, the "Rotjacken" have taken at least one point in the last seven consecutive games at the STEFFL Arena. Klagenfurt has also been very strong on the road this season: since a 0:1 at runner-up HCB Südtirol Alperia on October 31st, at least one point was collected by Klagenfurt in the past eight road games. Both teams play efficient penalty killing this season (KAC | 85.2% and VIC | 83.6%, respectively). Out of 141 games against each other so far, the "Rotjacken" won 75.
