The game started with more offense from Fehervar, then a broken glass forced the teams to make a break for a few minutes. Both teams had their chances in the upcoming minutes, Koger on one end, Bernard on the other had a big opportunity to score. Blunden was more successful, we shot from the right and the puck went into the upper left corner. Fehervar had less and less chances after the goal, and Carruth had a lot to do. Szita threatened, then Phillips and Korkiranta missed but Fehervar did not manage to equalize, at least not until the 1th minute, when Kuralt shot in the net. Stipsicz, then Luttinen and Petan got a penalty but Bolzano was unsuccessful five on four. Before the buzzer, the guests got in the lead again, Geiger’s shot went through Carruth’s pads. At the beginning of the second period, Fehervar missed a powerplay opportunity, then the game went on on both ends without bigger chances. Sofron, who plays his 400th Erste Bank Eishockey Liga game, missed a big opportunity towards the middle of the period but the score remained 1-2 until the 12th minute. Findlay passed after a breakaway to Catenacci who did not miss. Bolzano pushed harder after the goal, the dominance resulted in another goal, the puck went in the net from Blunden’s skates, however, the referees used the VGJ to decide if the goal was valid. The Hungarians threatened more at the end of the period but Irving saved all shots. Period 3 started with a balanced game, then Kuparinen and Szita both missed a chance. In the middle of the period, Fehervar got more offensive, the game went on in front of Irving’s net but the Hungarians could not score, not even on powerplay. Koger and Sofron both were close to scoring but the away goalie saved all shots. Playing full strength, both Sarauer and Caruso fouled and the Foxes scored again: just before Sarauer could enter the ice again, Crescenzi shot from the middle and he didn’t miss. At the end, Fehervar attacked five on four again and 11 seconds before the buzzer, Daniel Szabo put Hari’s rebound in the net, making the final result 2:5.
