Both teams came into the game with self-confidence. While Bratislava won 5-1 in Villach on Friday, Innsbruck celebrated a 4-1 victory in Linz. The visitors made one change to their line-up: After the injury of Mathias Porseland, the club reacted quickly after yesterday's game and so Adrian Saxrud Danielsen made his comeback on Saturday. In the eleventh minute, the Tyroleans scored the only goal in the first period - Bratislava goalie Jared Coreau did not look good on a shot by Colton Saucerman. But the hosts turned the game around within two minutes in the middle period. First Denis Hudec scored on power play with a well-placed shot, then the hosts were lucky when Ryan Culkin's shot found its way into the net. The game remained exciting in the final period and five minutes before the end Saucerman equalised on a rebound to make it 2:2. But when Innsbruck missed the puck in the attacking third, Bratislava took the lead again in the 58th minute. Denis Hudec, who already scored a brace in Villach on Friday, converted the 2-on-1 counter-attack to win the game. The Capitals thus won all four season duels with the Tyroleans so far - even three times with the result of 3:2. The league newcomer also overtakes the Tyroleans in the standings and is now in eighth place.
