On Sunday the 2nd matchday of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League takes place. It will be the first duel between the capitals Bratislava and Vienna. For both teams it will be the first game of the season. In the Puls 24 live match the Dornbirn Bulldogs will meet the EC-KAC. Both teams lost the season opener. In addition, the Black Wings 1992 will meet the Moser Medical Graz99ers and the EC GRAND Immo VSV will play against HC TWK Innsbruck 'Die Haie'. The planned match between the HCB Südtirol Alperia and the EC Red Bull Salzburg is postponed.

ICLINIC BRATISLAVA CAPITALS - SPUSU VIENNA CAPITALS

  • After the opening match of the iClinic Bratislava Capitals against HCB Südtirol Alperia was cancelled due to positive Covid 19 tests of the South Tyroleans, the Slovaks will start on Sunday against the spusu Vienna Capitals in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League. Vienna was free from play on Friday.
  • With Bratislava's entry into the league, fans can look forward to a new derby. The two capitals are only about an hour's drive away from each other.
  • Both teams already faced each other in the preseason. The Capitals from Bratislava celebrated a 3:2 away win. In total, BRC won three of six test matches, just like Vienna. Both teams lost the last two test matches.

DORNBIRN BULLDOGS - EC-KAC

  • Both the Dornbirn Bulldogs and the EC-KAC started with a defeat in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League. Both teams were defeated 4:1. Puls 24 will broadcast the game live from the Messestadion Dornbirn.
  • Klagenfurt won the last eight games against Dornbirn. The Bulldogs' last victory was on January 28, 2018. 23 of a total of 36 direct duels were won by the KAC. In seven of 18 home games the Bulldogs prevailed.
  • Compared to Friday two players are missing at the EC-KAC. Defender Steven Strong will probably be missing for a longer period of time due to an upper body injury. In addition, Thomas Hundertpfund will not take part in the trip to Vorarlberg for the time being. The 30-year-old is looking forward to fatherly pleasures. However, the center could join the team on match day.

  • The Black Wings 1992 started the first ICE season with a convincing 4:1 victory at the EC-KAC. The man of the match was Austro-Canadian Brian Lebler, who scored three of the four goals. The Moser Medical Graz99ers also started the season with a complete success. Against Hydro Féhervár AV19, the Styrians were able to turn a three-time deficit in their favor.
  • Both teams were already facing each other in the preseason. Linz prevailed with 4:3 after overtime. Last season Graz won three of the four games against the Upper Austrians. So far, both teams have met 56 times in the Merkur Eisstadion. The guests from Linz were successful 32 times. In the last two seasons, however, Linz only won one game at Graz.

EC GRAND IMMO VSV - HC TWK INNSBRUCK ‚Die Haie‘

  • The season opener could not have been more different for both teams. While HC TWK Innsbruck 'Die Haie' had a clear 4:1 home win over the Dornbin Bulldogs, EC GRAND Immo VSV lost at the EC Red Bull Salzburg with 6:1.
  • In the past season, the direct duels were extremely balanced. Both teams were able to win three games each. Villach was successful in two of three home games.
  • In the history of both teams there have been 103 duels so far. The VSV was successful in 63 games, the HCI in 40. The balance is very clear in Villach home games. In 40 of 53 games in front of their own crowd against the Tyroleans, the Carinthians were victorious.

BOLZANO AGAINST SALZBURG POSTPONED
The match between the HCB Südtirol Alperia and the EC Red Bull Salzburg, scheduled for Sunday, September 27th 2020, has been postponed. Due to the positive COVID-19 tests at Bolzano before the start of the season, the organization of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League in consultation with the two clubs made this decision as a preventive measure. A new match date will be announced at a later date.
