After his junior and college years, Coreau signed an "entry-level" contract with the Detroit Red Wings in 2013. In the following years he played for both the AHL farm team Grand Rapids Griffins and the Toledo Walleye in the East Coast Hockey League. In the 2016/17 season, Coreau made his Red Wings debut in the National Hockey League alongside Thomas Vanek. That same year, he also won the Calder Cup with the farm team. In two NHL seasons he made 21 appearances, in between and after that the Canadian was always busy in the American Hockey League (221 games in total). Last season he made 28 appearances for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, recording a 90.5 per cent save percentage.

"I am very happy that we were able to sign Jared. We will benefit from his experience in the very strong bet-at-home ICE Hockey League. He will definitely help us in the tough fight for the playoffs," says Bratislava manager Dušan Pašek.
