The EC Red Bull Salzburg celebrated another success after winning the national title. The bulls beat the Vienna Capitals Silver 5:2 to take second place in the Qualification Round A. The Salzburgers laid the foundation for success with two goals in the first period. The Viennese narrowed the gap in the second period before Salzburg scored two more goals. The Red Bulls finally won 5-2 and reduced the gap to the new leader of Group A to one point. The Viennese are at the bottom of the table after their fourth defeat in a row.

Gherdeina topples leader
Having started from pole position, EHC Lustenau had to admit defeat to HC Gherdeina 2:3 at the start of Qualification Round B. The home side remained at the helm in the second period and doubled their lead. Bregenzerwald tried to start a final attack in the final period, but did not find their way back into the game. Feldkirch made the result 3-0 with an emptynetter and thus maintained the second place in the table in Qualification Round B.

Eisbären wring down Steel Wings
