A day after their defeat in Feldkirch, the Vienna Capitals took the lead in the first period through a deflected shot from Carter Souch (12’), while the Sharks remained scoreless despite chances and more shots. Early in the second frame, Wallner and Nogier quickly extended the lead to 3-0. A powerplay goal by Gazzola put the Caps 4-0 ahead (34’). In the final period, the hosts at least managed a consolation goal from Lajeunesse (49’), but they could not avoid their fourth consecutive defeat. Vienna, on the other hand, bounced back from two losses, climbing to sixth place.

FTC-Telekom continued its Italian road trip on Saturday in Bruneck. Goaltender Kristóf Nagy made his debut in the win2day ICE Hockey League for the visitors. Shortly before the first intermission, the Hungarians went ahead through former HCP forward Tyler Coulter on the powerplay. In the middle frame, the hosts equalized when Henry Bowlby buried a rebound on the man advantage. Alex Ierullo turned the game around for the South Tyroleans in the third period, but Ferencvaros came alive again in a thrilling final phase. Brady Shaw tied the game (58’), before defenseman Paavo Tyni struck the game-winner just 53 seconds before the end of regulation time.
